what's that little car?

looks amphibious, is it Italian or just something the troops found on the side of the road?

weren't there supposed to be Ariette mbt's in Iraq or have they been replaced by the Centauro's?

Italy haven't something similar to the car in the background, I think it's an abandoned vehicle found on the side of the road.

Ariete mbt's are still in iraq but there aren't many pics of them :|

Doesn't look like an Mtlb. The nose section is much to short and the tracks are not ont he right place.

It looks a bit like a WW2 AMTRACK. I've seen a pcture of a vehicle like this used in a big exercize in poland;
http://www.navy.mil/management/photodb/photos/030612-N-3725V-003.jpg

IT's a polish amtrack. It's perhaps not the same one as the one in iraq, but it's very close. Perhaps a different version of the vehicle.

EDIT;
@lemmenZrecon;
I guess I was right than (I didn't read your post). It's indeed a PTS-M;

Some VM90 are equipped with kevlar plates, like this:

http://www.associazionelagunari.it/images/antica_babilonia_277.jpg

and there is also the armoured version of the VM90

BTW this the future for the Italian (and British) army:

I've visited that link, but it still isn't clear for me... What are the diffrences between these regiments (except subordination to Navy or Army)? Are both units the marines, or they have another specialization? Frens - can you clear things up?

OK, so Lagunari use amphibious tactics to defend Italian Coast, while San Marco is expeditionary force (correct me if i'm wrong).
