I recently acquired a Swedish M/90 camouflage uniform set and in the honour of this event I decided to post a few pictures of the Swedish army:

Looks like Home Guard. The guys to the right position is a typical sign of it :)

Do they only use H&K g-series guns? Im not recongizing the one with the scope? Or do they use the FN FAL's?

Isn't their standard rifle the AK5, a modified FNC though?

The national guard uses the g3 which is to be upgraded with aimpoint.

The swedish forces use the ak5 in different modifications.

http://www.mil-con.se/ has got both the infantry and tank uniform.

I prefer the infantry jacket combined with the tank pants.

Now there should be a few shops in Sweden that sells em' , I got mine from a relative who ordered it for me from here:

http://www.mil-con.se/

And here's another one that's supposed to be carrying the M/90's

http://www.militaryshop.se/

I'm sure there's a few more shops that sell the M/90 back in Sweden, however these are the two that I've used so far. And I wouldn't know if they ship their stuff to other countries as well.

As for the Finnish stuff, here's a shop that sells the M/91 (among many) but again I can't be sure if they've got a policy for shipping their goods to other countries:

Man, I can make something out of the Swedish (does Ny mean "new"?), but the Finnish beats the crap out of me. Could somebody who understands Finnish check out the policies concerning shipping abroad on the Finnish site? Kiitos.

EDIT: found the "English" button, nevermind ;-)

Sweden is the only western country I know that wants nothing to do with Nato.

Funny, we were a part of a larg nato naval exercise when my squadron came a LITTLE too close to the swedish border... 4 min later, from out of nowhere two swedish jets comes RACING towards us... Attack profile and all... They broke off early though.. Guess it was like"Stay the **** away from our border!"

BTW, You can get the norwegian uni at www.armygear.no theres an english button there at the top of the page.

Its not home guard.

Its the 111 ssk battalion. Theyre a urban fighting unit stationed in the city malmoe, the 3 largest city in sweden.

During the time when AK5 /modded fn fnc were adopted, not all troops got it. Sweden at that time divided its army troops in 2 categories. Mechanized/flexible and stationary. Mechinazied units got AK5 first, Stationary units such as the 111 ssk bat, arty, and coastal artellery got stuck with the AK4/G3. The big guys said it was cuz 7,62/G3 would do better in an urban situation, which off course is BS, the real reason was lack of money.

But today the only ones using 7,62 G3/AK4 is the homeguard

Lenin: I don't want to question your knowledge now, but Malmö doesn't have any "regular army unit in it, only home guard units. At least as long as I know.

And, if they would be a "SIB" (a shorting in Swedish for urban fighting) they'd have the 2000 assault vest.

But if you'd tell me that is a home guard SIB unit, i'd buy it with no hazzle :)

But what do I know? The pics might be old and I might be wrong

Edit: Just made it more correct :)

Read about the pics, in english, at http://www.wendel.se/rswa/stdssk.htm

They're probably a couple of years old...

Exactly as glufs says, i remember when they trained in malmoe(sluövning) i wwas cind of like very young then, and today it was a year sence I finished my miloitary service, so it was a while sence.

Both Gothenburg, malmoe and Stocholm have their urban fighting battalions. Stocholm have a whole regiment, Livgardet.
Gothenburg have the 322 ssk bat. Malmoe have the 111 ssk, i think they were trained at the halmstad regiment, when it still existed or hässleholm. Now it belongs to the P7 regiment. So the battalion exists in the papers. And ther will be no more urban fighting battalions dedicated to sertian cities in sweden. Only those in "Livgardet".

OK, I stand corrected!

I didn't have a clue about that at all, thanks for informing me :)
But there is still a regiment in Halmstad, Lv 6 but the old infantry regiment (IB 16/I 16) went down a few years ago, sadly :(

Seriöst? Jag bor också i malmö:)
!

Lite mer info

Här har ni ett par kartor
