View Full Version : DEVGRU Photos (Hood Please Read!)
I was resently checking out the photos of Naval Special Warfare Development Group (SEAL Team Six) and thought of something. How can I or we be certain that this are photos of DEVGRU? Hood, where did you get this photos and how can you prove that they are DEVGRU? I am not being mean but I want to know where these photos came from and how to prove these mean are really DEVGRU.

Hood made an "educated guess" becuase we know roughly when DEVGRU was providing personal protection for Mr. Karzi and when the pictures were taken.
One of the questions that I want to ask Hood is where he found the photos of DEVGRU.

Being that NSW has made wide use of the Crane stock in conjunction with the LMT rear sight in tandem to an M68. I think it is pretty safe to say the pics are DEVGRU. You can see the stock and rear sight pretty clearly in some of the pics. At least, in the newer ones that is. In some of the older pics you will see Trijicon reflex and EOtechs which have since been pretty much ****-canned by SOCOM and MSPF units.

What happened to the EoTech sights? I mean what's wrong with them? I've seen tons of shots of US Army SF guys using them in Iraq. Actually, the team on the PBS special seemed to all be using EoTechs. I'm not really in the know though, so.
Well, a couple of points. Firstly, a large number of the galleries from Afghanistan were setup by the original creator of the site which was in a very different form than it is now. The war in Afghanistan, being one of the first large scale conflicts that was run mostly by various special operations groups, there was a new openness about having pictures of groups that were usually hidden up until now. Identifying what group a particular soldier is from is rather difficult and it's quite possible that some people might not be in the correct album sections. Some of the pictures were also sent to me by the photographers who took them, who labeled them as DEVGRU, so they're in there also. To sum up, unless someone is actually there to question the guy what group he's in, or he's wearing his group's patches, it's next to impossible to be sure who's from what. It's all a best guess.
I went and added a few more to the gallery of guys who were serving close protection duty for Hamid Karzai during that time period.

Thanks indeed any more on the way Hood?.
Those are probably it from that time period. There's always more in the close protection album under contemporary, but those are private contractors, not DEVGRU.
