WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Terri Schiavo, the 41-year-old brain-damaged woman who became the centerpiece of a national right-to-die battle, died Thursday morning, nearly two weeks after doctors removed the feeding tube that had sustained her for more than a decade.

It is my understanding that her condition was brought on by an eating disorder. I would hope that if any good comes out of this it will be to help steer women away from such behavior.

I live near St. Petersburg, and when you drive anywhere lately, they have picketers all along the roads...."Let her live!", and "Let her go!" signs and such.
It's sad, but I think she is better off.

I know from personl experience that some people have an impossible time coping with lesser diablities than she had. I am glad she is at peace. I know a guy who was an 82nd vet, real athletic, got parlayzed from the waist down, started giving his stuff away, and then committed suicide.

Although I can't see why this is anyone's business after all. This kind of things should be handeled by members of her family, not by the whole USA including the president andthe rest of the god damned world.

Two weeks ago a woman got 30 years in Houston for doing the exact same thing to her brain damaged husband. Somebody reel in the courts. Please.

I'll second all of the above, I've been bombarded with enough about this story for weeks, IMO it really just isn't newsworthy.

exactly, shes been dead for 15 years. What sort of life is it being stuck on a machine and being a drooling vegetable.
Whilst the christian extremists are up in arms about this one life, thousands die in the indonesian earthquakes and countless other tragic events. I wonder if they ever donated time or money for people who truely DO need help.

YES! I hate it when one person is dominating every news channel, like when Johnny Carson died. . . I got really sick of hearing about him too.

Thank god that she may finally rest in peace.
Although I think this whole case is rediculous and had far to much media-attention I'm glad to see that it has ended now and that they didn't start feeding her again.
It's sad for the parents who just didn't want to except that their daughter was dead already, but that's not a good reason to keep someone alive for 15 years while she's already braindead.

It's tasteless, but in points us to a very good reason to let her die. She was just braindead and 'living' like a vegetable drooling all over the place. It's completely insane and very very sad to keep someone alive in this state.
