It is gonna take some time and meanwhile i wanted to ask for your help.
What would you guys like this review to include other then my experience as an end user.

Whatever you feel best would work dude, any info and insight and maybe compare it against a few other guns like the Galil or the M-series guns.

To pretorian669.
I will just repost my question here from the other thread...
Like I said before, I left the military around two years ago and as such I have no personal experience with the Tavor, and besides the person I knew a while ago who did some testing on it (and isayeret.com and Israeli-weapons.com), I don’t really know much about the newer tavor with which the IDF infantry is getting.
Here is what I wrote in the last thread……
“For me personally, the one question I am curious and what I get asked a lot is in “lashab” or MOUT or CQB training or missions, how does the tavor overcome the split second switching from side to side(when needed) if the ejection port is where its at????
As for all the other information and comparisons, yeah bring that down as well.”
P.S. again great pics!!! :D

I don't have any specific questions, as I'm not that knowedgable. But I just wanted to say that I'm eager to hear everything you have to say about this weapon :)
And while comparisons w/ other bullpups and other Israeli-made rifles is good, at least a short description of how you think it compares with M16-family weapons would be nice--isn't that a major question facing the IDF now? Whether to stick with M16-family weapons or change over to this?
Anyway, cool pictures, and thanks for any and all reviews!

Slightly off topic, IDF uniforms. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before, but why is israel the only country with a modern military which has not adopted a DPM type, multicoloured combat dress. surely it has nothing to do with budget issues, is the current uniform the most effective colour for the areas where the IDF operates, considering there is a multitude of environments, urban on the west bank, golan heights, negav desert etc.
As far as i know....the palstinian police use that cind of uniform....since it gona be pretty bad...if a israeli soldair will identify as palstinian police man in mistake...
And i think that also Egept and Jordan use that cind of uniform....

First you have to understand that while there are different environments, for the most part Israel doesn’t really face any Vietnam type of jungle or any harsh and thick woodland type of areas.
As such the olive green was thought to have been a sort of compromise as a one size fits all for all environments that Israel faces.
That was the old thinking for the IDF realised in Lebanon that it was seriously deficient in camouflage and as such has made great improvements.
Instead of going into again I will just give the link to the other thread to where on page four (read the whole page) we discuss it and we bring down pictures as well.

Just a question on bullpup in general. Any experience with standerd Mag load vs the bullpup. Think any magazine other than STANAG would improve the ease of reload or capacity?

SA80A2 against Tavor would be interesting.

Before you read the rest of this post and avoid any misgivings. I like the look of the Tavor and I have shot several IMI firearms or firearms made under license here in the United States.
I know there is a long barreled TAVOR, but I wouldn't call these assault rifles. They are carbines. Even with the bullpup configuration of the MTAR, the barrel length falls under 16" (38cm)...
Here are some images of the Newer Tavor 2 model...I love the DMR version with a barrel the length of just over 18" (48cm)
I forsee us getting into a variety of conversations about this gun like we do with the M4 and M16.
That said, I do like the like the gun.
:)
I like the design, thought he 9mm SMG mod looks a little awkward/fragile.

OK, I do have some questions.
1. What is the rifling twist?
2. Is it issued with SS109 type rounds, if not what grain?
3. How much of a PITA is it to strip? Special tools?
4. Can we see pics of it stripped?
5. Any comments on accuracy past 100m?
6. How does the plastic furniture hold up?
7. 30 rounds mags felt slightly too long when firing from ****e position to me. It felt
like the rifle was being kept higher than I wanted sometimes. Considering that this mag
is in the back, how does it feel when firing ****e.
8. Can you tell audibly when the bolt locks back like with series.
9. In your photos it looks like the mag release is just foward of the mag well, in the
other pics it looks like the mag release is on the side. Where is the slide release?
10. What direction do the rounds eject? Foward back up down?
Thanks man. Didn't meen to give you a Time-On-Target of question sessions. Have a good
one.
Have a smilie. Should make a bullpup version. LOL.

I may have misunderstood your point, so ignore this if I did...
The basic TAR-21 has a 460mm barrel length, not 380mm. Given that an M16 has a 508mm barrel length and an M4 has a 370mm barrel length, I think it's fair to call the basic TAR-21 an "assault rifle" instead of a "carbine."
The CTAR-21 has a the 380mm barrel, and the MTAR has a 250mm barrel: http://www.imi-israel.com/imi/doa_iis.dll/Serve/item/English/1.1.2.12.2.5.html

I am sure it is either a 1:9 or 1:10...that is a fairly common twist. I would also imagine that the accuracy past a 100 yards is not unlike an M4.
Looking at the gun closer, it looks like the 30 rnd mag would be awkward in a ****e position. I target shoot ****e with a 20 rnd with my AR as do most match guys...this is of course, not military, so take that for what it is worth.
Just some thoughts with no information in front of me.

Ahh, there was my confusion. I thought the standard TAR21 was their DMR see image below the three basic models shown? The link I saw earlier had only the one with the bipod and the Mid and Mini.
Still a short barrel though. I always thought an A2 standard lenght of 510mm (a little over 18" was short).
