Never has one done what it was designed to do, its a "cool" factor i think is what the designers think.
Take the bucks for example - becuase ive used them i can critisize them - youd be better off trying to cut a tree with a FRED haha.

The sawbacks can be used a bit better than you think.

You just need a bigass log to smack against it to get it to cut right, I guess.
