I know that the Media has been saying that the CIA used a new generation Predetor drone with a Hellfire missle to take out the bad guys in Yeman. What I'm wondering is if anyone knows how they confirmed that these were the actual guys in the car and not just 5 dudes driving along.

The remotely flown Predator fired a missile that obliterated the vehicle and its passengers. The administration official knowledgeable about the attack said the extraordinary damage -- the vehicle was blown up and the individuals were burned almost beyond recognition -- was caused by an "unexplained secondary explosion," which indicated the occupants were carrying arms, explosives or extra gasoline.

CIA and Pentagon spokesmen yesterday refused to discuss the operation, although other sources said the CIA has been operating armed Predators over Yemen for months. While many details of Sunday's attack were not available, sources said U.S. operators of the unmanned aircraft, who could be working from ground stations hundreds of miles away, were probably alerted to the al Qaeda utility vehicle and its passengers by intelligence information that may have included intercepted phone messages.

I read on another site that I can't remember, that they were tracking him and his vehicle for a while, but they waited until the vehicle drove out to an area where there were no people around.
