AK mags fit in FAL mag pouches?

I was wondering if anyone knew if AK magazines would fit into pouches designed to hold FAL mag pouches? Specifically, does anyone if AK mags will fit into the mag pouches that are part of the British 1958 webbing system?

If the webbing is of the old NATO 60s and 70s era, and especially if its British commonwealth design, then the pouches can hold the AK magazine since the were designed to carry the L 4 Bren LMG magazines.
But the more modern webbings have a problem since most countries that do not use AK designed based weapons have a 20 rounds magazine for their rifles.

I know my AK mag wont fit into my PLCE webbing - tried it a day or two ago :(
