For those of you who don't actually know what the left flank was here is a map. Of course I wasnt actually fighting in the Gulf War because I was 5 at the time. I do remember seeing it on TV though. Many people here like to say that i was involved in the conflict though. They are mistaken.
On the left you can see the french flank. Their goal was to protect the main force from side attack coming from the west. They performed with accuracy and bravery

You beat me to it, but I was going to do it like this:
For those of you who don't actually know what the left flank was here is a map. Of course I wasnt actually fighting in the Gulf War because I was 5 at the time. I do remember seeing it on TV though. I posted a bunch of bull**** saying that I was there, because I'm a poser jackhole, and eventually got busted for it - but since I have no sense nor shame, I still post here despite being all but reviled by this community
Fixed.

Next he's going to tell us he's a hot motorcycle riding babe LTJG at JAG. Or maybe he already did.......Hmmmmmmm
I don't get the fetish with the french, first he claims he was with the french during GW1 (and was busted for it), then he posts a cutesie pic of the french left flank in GW1 and writes about how brave and wonderful they were. Hate to tell ya, but there wasn't anything of any real significance to the west of the french dudes. They were there to screen the western flank, just in case something moved into that area, but the disinformation campaign about an amphibious landing on the coast had drawn a lot of the Iraqi forces that way.
Granted, they did their job, all 10,000 of the French 6th Armored (Light) plus approx 8,000 other French troops, but don't forget the:
540,000 US troops
40,000 UAE troops
17,000 Syrian troops
118,000 Saudi troops
7000 Pakistani troops
25,500 Omani troops
1700 Morrocan troops
11,000 Kuwaiti troops
40,000 Egyptian troops
43,000 British troops
6000 Bangladesh troops
3000 Bahraini troops
As well as the following nations that also contributed (less than 1000 ground troops, or provided ships, aircraft, etc):
Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Romania, Qatar, Portugal, Poland, Phillipines, Norway, Niger, New Zealand, Netherlands, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Honduras, Greece, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Canada, Belgium, Australia, Argentina, Afghanistan
All of the above did their jobs as well.

Wasn't it at Dun Kirk that the French put up a valiant stand against invading fascists and slaughtered them, winning WWII?
Wait, no. That was just a dream.
