woohoo! just got the new car that I've been coveting for a bit. 2005 Acura TL / See-through windows / 4 tires

I went with this one over the equivalent BMW or Infiniti because those had a bit more power or performance steering, whereas the Acura goes completely overboard with the voice activation, graphical navigation/audio system, and tons of other gizmos. Here's some pics:

Yeah, with the camera phone. I've never had a fast car before; I've been driving an old clunker camry for 8+ years now that was already a hand-me-down when I got it. Out of curiosity, at a stop light I floored it and it felt like the engine was going to go flying out of the hood. The tires screeched a bit and I was pushed back hard in my seat. I'll hold off on that again until the car's broken in (so I'm told) but that was mighty fun. :)

Yeah, pushing the gas too much on a new car, is really bad for the car.

good choice, its not bad to push a new car it helps the piston rings settle, but you have to make sure it has proper warm up and cool down and isnt run too hard for too long. But yeah hood nice choice man looks good.

Well, if you don't go over 4/5000 RPM. (Depends on car.)

Well it depends on the motor and other factors but the main things is to just take care of it and have fun honda makes reliable cars so he doesnt have much to worry about.

Thats a joke right?

Yes...

My house is made out of candy. I'm hoping 2 little children will come by and I will be able to boil them in a great big pot.

Most houses if not all of them are made from wood, i.e. the wooden framing, walls etc.

Just because you see the outside of houses stuccoed doesn't mean it's made out of stucco.

So houses in Europe don't have wooden floorboards, don't have wooden framing and are made completely out of something other then wood?

BTW, Acura is Honda's "Luxury" brand. I hope that you got this beaut in Manual tranny!

Looks outstanding. I know they drive outstanding. You were wise to choose this over you stated competitiors.

however, I would be derelict not to bring to your attention a flaw. It appears there's a light on this car that won't light on one side.
So I'm taking it home to my workshop. I'll fix it up there. Then I'll bring it back here. - well?

04-17-2005, 01:17 AM
hah yep. unfortunately it's a lease so I won't be able to beef it up further. They had the Spec-A option which adds skirts and a spoiler along with a few other outside options, but I'll consider it on the next go around if I'm still in toy mode. As it is, this thing is seriously fast. At least twice as fast to 60mph as my old beat up Camry, if not faster. I'm scared of what it would be with a Turbo. :) As for the navigation system, me and by friends are so far very impressed. We put in Blockbuster Video and several other restaurants when we were going out and it came up with exactly the right directions every time, even when we didn't follow the instructions and went past a highway exit. It auto adjusted within 10 seconds and told us how to fix it.

I got a 1998 honda prelude Vti-r.
I love it, never had any problems with it, quick as lightning and an absolute scream to drive.
handles great, engine sounds awesome, and its a high revving engine, cause of the vtec.
redline starts at 8000rpm, so you can push it pretty hard.
pretty powerful too, gets 143kw from 2.2L engine.
too bad they dont make them any more.

hah yeah, the milphotos logo is the right shape too... if it weren't a lease I'd definitely slap one on. As for the Merc, that one doesn't belong to me.. the people who live below me just got that and I felt I had to one up 'em... too bad theirs costs 20 grand more than mine. :( I think I got the better car though with Mercedes reliability supposedly going down lately.
