Seven Ukrainian Military Men Wounded in Iraq
[29.10.2003 10:56]

Seven Ukrainian peacemakers - major Serhiy Husak, captain Oleksander Roshevsky, chief sergeant Oleksander Beley, sergeant Anatoliy Levchenko, first sergeants Oleksander Shokhin, Serhiy Puzyr, and soldier Yuri Bachurin - were wounded in Iraq yesterday.

According to the press-service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, 14 Ukrainian military men were carrying out a planned battle patrolling at two armored transporters BTR-80. At nearly 20.10 (by Kyiv time), a patrol was ambushed near Es-Suveira city. Three land mines were blown up under the BTRs. The attack continued with the bombardment from four anti-tank discharges (RPG-7) and fire-arms. There are no victims.

The reserve group, which promptly arrived at the scene, rendered first aid to the wounded. At 20.28, five of them were evacuated by a helicopter to the basic hospital in Baghdad. The state of health of the other two soldiers is satisfactory. According to the conclusion of medical men, they will return to their service in two days.

The command of the fifth separate mechanized brigade has taken several additional measures to strengthen the security during implementation of battle tasks.

IMHO, AT mine + RPG's.

They said no one died? Hopefully they didn't, although I strongly doubt it.

I don't think pictures of US soldiers would upset him if Ukranian soldiers didn't upset him. If anything, they would have to be Polish most likely, and even then it seems as though it's not something he minds.

However, I agree that you should use links to the images with a disclaimer. Most people will not disallow pictures of dead soldiers, but generally it's requested that the pictures be linked with a disclaimer.

I've never put a single picture of dead soldier. But - to protect you against the real world - I removed those terrible pictures with blood.

Most people will not disallow pictures of dead soldiers, but generally it's requested that the pictures be linked with a disclaimer. The Sixth Sense Syndrome - you see dead people at any picture? ;)

People its just blood. What you never seen blood? Watch any action film, there's plenty to go around in those, and yet no one complains. So we are prepared to see blood of Iraqi insergents splattered on the sidewalk but not coalition soldiers? Personally I think its blown out of proportion, its just blood, no dead bodies as Remov said.

I don't think you can make a comparison between this post and the ones showing dead soldiers or body parts.

Come on people this is suposed to be a military pictures forum, so war is not preety. Pictures of a damaged armoured vehicle have interest in a way of analysing and discussing the battle damage and by doing so exchanging knowledge, on the other hand I don't think any of the members here have interest in seeing a dead serviceman on the ground no matter what nationality he is.

what's wrong with blood? i mean...i suppose everyone's done their own share of bleeding so far, what's really so 'horrible' about it :|

Looking at your own blood is cool. Looking at someone else's is not as cool.

i know someone elses blood ain't cool, but personally i can't say its horrible either, especially when there's no dead people involved
