View Full Version : The great Osama hunt!

I saw this on this site, the news and all sorts of other sources. I just decided to start up a conversation about it. As we all know there is still fighting everyday in Afghanistan. Rocket attacks on the German and Dutch headquarters, car bombings, US Special Forces missions in the south of the country and yes, Pakistani "Sovreignty" Patrols aimed at finding good ol' UBL.

I wonder what the widening of the mission will look like, obviously The Germans and Canadians will be called on to send more troops to the nation. This would put Germans and Canadians on the frontlines together...this has never happened before in the history of my nation. The only times Canadians have been on the battle field with the Krauts were in battles like The Scheldt and Ortona. How could we possibly fight side by side with the nation that was/still is our traditional rival?

The French of course will also be called upon to assist and as our three nations are not involved in Iraq this means we have an incredible amount of resources to throw into the capture of Osama bin laden...so Im gonna think as NATO expanding its influence in Afghanistan as more of a race.

Who do you think will catch UBL first?

The Americans? Canadians? Germans, French or Pakistani's?...cause for some reason I cant make this a poll :| haha.

I agree with you Marxist203. I do too want UBL caught first. The government has had numerous (and maybe dozens that we dont know about) to catch him. I want the US to catch him. Nevermind, I want his head on a stick.

I was watching MSNBC about a month ago and Jesse Ventoura was interviews Richard **** Marcinko. **** said, if he was "sent free" and didn't have a regin around his neck, he would be able to capture him in THREE MONTHS. Coming from the plankowner of SEAL Team Six, I believe and a lot of you also believe it, too.

Hopefully he gets caught period, hopefully he is alive that way he can be made an example of. Although they probably would dance in the street and scream how good of a martyr he would be, I think he'd be better off tossed in a all white room with iron madien playing constantly for the next 50-some odd years.

didn't richard marcinko steal funds from SEAL team six back at it's begining?......maybe i am just making that up............i cannot distinguish reality from my own thoughts anymore.

How about we raise the reward to 1 Billion, we can afford it.

I say change his hair color to pink then put leather pants on him and, stick him in a glass tub, and send him on a tour across America.

Nah, he was railroaded because of a S&W Revolver that was purchased for him as a going away present by his men. They used team funds to help buy it. He pissed off a lot of people while playing terrorist.

What the hell ? Traditional rival ?? :cantbeli: man we here in europe have been killing eachother off for 2000 years, I'm not even going to count the times german or french forces occupied our country.
When you've fought like one or two times with another nation it sure as sh*t ain'y a traditional rival.

Pluss I don't think for a SECOND that canadas military view's Germany as their TRADITIONAL enemy, and has problems fighting next to them.

Marcinko also has a reputation of being a bit of a showman and mouth piece!!
3 months!!!Yeah well there's not a single thing from him being employed by the Christians In Action,to do that, there's also the $30 million dollar bounty,so he should put his money where his mouth is and do so!!.
It is also reported that the UK SF had OBL in view, but were denied the opportunity to take him out,as the US wanted that honour,so they had to let him slip away, there are several unconfirmed incidents like this too

Were there not Canadian JTF2 and German KSK operating in Afghanistan during the initial war?

Marcinko is a disgrace to the teams. Ask any SEAL who has been around who took it seriously, they will say he was a good soldier, but wild, and once he was put into prison and they found out what all hed done he shamed the SEALs, the Navy, the U.S. military. I havent read his books, but ive read books of other SEALs that didnt kiss his ass, like Bob Gromly and Micheal Walsh, and they werent impressed with him much, ecspecially after he went to prison, that made them all look bad. Find em in 3 months, yeah i doubt it, plus hed probably be doing **** like threatening civilians and causing unrest, destroying what the SF guys have spent years building. I recently read Eric Haneys book, Inside the Delta Force, and i like his style and approach alot more than ****s. I mean you read the back or front cover of Marcinkos book and it screams crazy wild blowing everybody up and taking names like Rambo sorta, but Haney seemed very mature and the opposite of in your face were the total bad asses of the world alot of SEALs take. I like SEALs, i mean anyone that spend years of hell being tired and cold for the oppurtunity to fight and possibly die to keep us safe, but Marcinko doesnt impress me, he seems like a ravid wild ****head, and if youre not kissing his ass he hates you, doesnt sound like someone id like to be around or serve under.

Well...please, feel free to name another army that we have fought more? sure we fought the Koreans, but Canada made its reputation with the Krauts.

And I do know we'd have no problem fighting beside them...its been almost 60 years, but Im sure some of the officers would "Compete"

So guys...please, name another nations besides the United States that we have fought more than the Germans please! I dare you!

A Nation can have more than one Rivalry...in World War 1 Canadian troops hated the Germans quite alot for Crucifying one of our troops, unleashing gas on us at Ypres(Mind you we repulsed that attack while the Algerians took off) and of course, mocking the nation of Canada. Now no other nation in the history of Canada has ever deserved the title of "Rival of Canada" then Germany...except the States haha, but anyway.

Your rival can be Germany too...its a free world, all I suggest is there would be alot of Competition between our troops in the field, cause we poured some much cash and effort into rebuilding Germany there is no real reason to hate them anymore.

Kriz is right!
Even I don't give a **** if some french or whoever invaded us.
If this is your opinion I am really sorry for you. Your way of thinking is really premitiv. Why do you name yourself like a german? I thought you don't like them.

Canadians' attempt to fight against the Germans @ Dieppe

Of the 4,963 Canadians 907 died, 1,154 were wounded and 1,894 were captured.

:cantbeli:

Has to be one of the top 3 military blunders of all time...No bombers, battle ships, or paratroopers.

Are you familiar with the history of the Deippe raid?
I'm not,but I was under the impression it was one of the 1st "commando
type raids, they did have some armour there, but hey considering France was totally occupied by Germans and most of Europe too, then that raid was never going to accomplish much other than show the germans that "hey look what we can do"!!
As for Blunders I'd put Pearl Harbour right up there along with this!!

Even if they get bin laden and humiliate him they will continue. Bin Laden isnt the person on which everything depends... imo

You are correct. If they get Laden, the public will be happy but i don't think Laden is leading the show. There are more crazy people under him.
Same thing about Hitler, what if some spy or sniper would've shot him?
His generals gave him many fantastic operational plans but rejected them. Things could be really dark if he would've died in the early phases of war.

But hey it's only my opinion.

Seoulstriker

no, bin laden is the so-called 'spiritual' leader of al qaeda, meaning he gives 'moral' support for the group's terrorist actions. it doesn't matter if he is 'leading' the show: his mere existence encourages al qaeda terrorists around the world.

So he probably only finances the show, and doesn't 'again' probably lead the operations??

yes. from where he is located, it would be extremely difficult for him to lead any operations. however, it now depends on where UBL is. some have stated he is now in Iran, but he was in eastern afghanistan for a very long time.

if he is in iran, he would have a larger influence in operations. however, because the al qaeda network has been shattered, individual cells would have most of the responsibility of orchestrating attacks.

If he is still in Pakistan he has a sizeable portion of the local intelligence community on his side. No wonder President Musharraf founded a new intelligence service to counter the fundamentalist officers.
