As SCUBA said, Ft. Drum is in NY close to Canada, and is the home of the 10th Mountain Division.

Ya Ft Drum is right near the Canadian border.
Interesting actually, I heard from Americans on another board that Ft. Drum was actually the planned jump off point for the possible invasion/liberation of Canada during the Cold War... Obviously wasn't a likely event, but they planned for it anyway (in case the Soviets ever invaded Canada, or a pro-Soviet govt took over in Ottawa).

We probably wont go to Iraq our hands are going to be full in Afghanistan since we are sending a buttload of boys to Afghanistan for troop rotation in January. I seen they were actually training in a Canadian city, I forget were but they used the city because it was similar to what they would expect in Kabul. They even used the abandoned coal mines to setup "terrorist caves", they are even doing night patrols of the city and have setup an "Opfor" to ambush fight n generally piss them off.
---------------->edit
What I would give to be in that city, Id be awake all night watching them and generally pissing them off with fireworks, airsoft ambushes hahahahaha kiddin

uh you totally misunderstood me, Im wondering if these pics were taken before the war in IRAQ even started. Im thinking they were training with the 10th Mountain and doing NBC training to prepare to goto war. But since our gov said we'd only go if the UN gave the green light we didnt go.
3RCR is in Afghanistan how could they goto IRAQ man....

No, our bases have "CFB" infront of their names. (stands for Canadian Forces Base)
