UNITED NATIONS (AP) A U.N. security guard was found dead inside U.N. headquarters at midday on Monday with a gunshot wound to the head, the head of U.N. security said.

Michael Holton's body was found in a third floor lounge shortly before noon. He was discovered by two officers who were sent to check on Holton after he did not return to his duty station following a break, said Michael McCann, the U.N. security chief.

McCann told a news conference the incident was the first of its kind inside the United Nations buildings.

Holton, 41, was found in a lounge area where U.N. employees often take their breaks. He was seated in one of the chairs and his gun was on the chair next to his leg, McCann said.

McCann said that Holton was a 16-year veteran of the U.N. security department, was married and had two children. McCann gave no further details on the family. Holton was a U.S. citizen.

''We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family,'' the security chief said. ''Michael was a terrific officer ... very personable, very friendly, somebody that greeted everybody in a positive manner.''

Asked whether the death might have been a suicide, McCann said the incident was under investigation by the New York Police Department and by the FBI.

He said there was no prior indication of psychological problems and that no note was left near the body. He said there were no witnesses and no one was known to have heard anything unusual.

''He's one of my officers; someone well respected. It's not easy answering these questions,'' McCann told reporters.

George Bush ordered the assassination of the UN guard because he had stumbled on vital infomation linking Bush to the Lewinsky/Clinton affair. He planned to sell this infomation to Sadamn who is currently in Florida residing with Arnold who is his gay lover. The two then were planning on hiding the guard until he could be safely release. However the guard was also planning to reveal the wherebouts of Sadamn and also that Arnold was gay. The guard only told his plans to his wife who was having an affair with a bi-****** who was obsessed with Arnold. Subsequently the wife told the bi-****** who told Arnold who upon finding out that the Guard was going to reveal his secret then told Bush about the Guard planning to reveal Bush's role in the Lewinsky/Clinton affair and so Bush had the CIA kill the UN guard. Oh and we must all wear tin foil on our heads to stop the 12 ft blood sucking lizards from warping our minds.

My guess it probably was a personal grudge held against him, getting in the U.N. building and smuggling in a weapon isnt easy, plus you'd have to know his routine. His patrol routes, when he takes his breaks, were he takes them, and the other guards routes. Plus to make a shot to the head without making a mess/alerting others also requires a silencer/home made silencer. Either way this wasnt something that "random spur of the moment" killing.

Bullet to the head...must have been one hell of a grudge. Plus the officer in charge said he was a well liked/amiable individual though that might be PR exaggeration.

Seems likely that he walked in on someone doing something they shouldn't have been doing. If that's the case then they must have either had clearance or had help to get a gun into the U.N. building. It's unlikely that a person with the skill to get a gun into the building would be as stupid as to kill a security guard in the process of whatever they were doing.

Suicide seems possible, but forensics can rule that out fairly easily.

Remember the CHinese Embassy level?

Haha, that's exactly what made me think about it, plus I always knocked out and killed as many people as possible. :)
