A SECOND killer fired shots from a second car in the weekend drive-by double murder at The Rocks in Sydney, police revealed today.

Police had previously only identified a black BMW as carrying a gunman in the slaying of Sydney men Naser Ghaderi, 25, and his friend Keyvan Ghajaloo, 24.
Each shooter, both armed with a handgun, was responsible for one of the deaths, police said.

The two men died in Hickson Road as a total of 10 shots were fired on them about 1am (AEST) last Saturday.

"Ballistics evidence indicates two weapons were fired at the victims – one weapon was fired from the black BMW, the other from the Volkswagen Bora," homicide squad commander Detective Superintendent Paul Jones said.

Police seized a BMW in the western Sydney suburb of Auburn on Saturday night, arresting and charging a 25-year-old man with traffic offences.

He was later released on bail and was continuing to help with their inquiries, police said.

Det Supt Jones said police were "reasonably confident" the seized BMW was the car used in the drive-by attack as well as a separate shooting in a McDonald's car park 30 minutes after the murders.

A shot was fired from a BMW during a verbal argument with a man in another car in the car park in Stanmore, in inner-western Sydney, he said.

Occupants of a third car, a silver Mazda3, were identified by witnesses in the car park as being associated with those in the BMW.

Police are searching for the Volkswagen and the Mazda, and are continuing to look for a motive for the double murder.

The backgrounds of the victims were being investigated to explore why they were targeted, Det Supt Jones said.

"There is no evidence at this stage to indicate either man was involved with a gang. However, a principal line of inquiry will be their associates," Det Supt Jones said.

Police meanwhile confirmed Ghaderi had a criminal history, following a report that he had been released from prison in June 2002.

Ghaderi was on parole after serving half of a six-and-a-half year jail term for armed raids on Sydney service stations, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Det Supt Jones said a shooting outside a city nightclub last month involving a black BMW had been incorporated into the investigation conducted by Strike Force Lauma into last Saturday's shootings.

In the nightclub incident, two groups of young men were involved in an argument outside the Elizabeth Street club before six shots were fired into one of the rival groups.

Police said the gunman had walked away from the argument and retrieved a 9mm pistol from a black BMW parked across the road.

A 30-year-old Lidcombe man was wounded by a bullet in the the arm.

the only guns we have banned is automatics, apart from that if you can justify a need to own a rifle/gun/pistol you can get a liscene and purchase one.
Its just our licensing laws are strict.

These mob guys are a disgrace, they should send out the military and off them all - they are ruining a grea tcountry and noone wants their ethnic arses here in the first place...

So even when law abiding citizens are restricted, criminals will always have the ability to get guns to knock each other (and you and me) off. How novel!

That better not have been a slur against 'ethnics' in general. Racism is unbecoming.

Why not? He shouldn't be allowed to express his opinion, whatever it might be?
You bastid PrincessRAR, how dare you express your opinion, even if it is racist!
I'm not saying it is, I'm saying I don't give a damn if you're the most tolerant person in the world or the most racist, or anywhere in between, say what you want, offensive or not. It's one of the things people who believe in liberty should believe in - the ability to say what you think. Always funny to me how the self proclaimed tolerant people are so intolerant of opinions they don't like...

Wait a sec, you're not saying that criminals will always have guns, even if it's illegal for them to have them, are you? That comes dangerously close to saying what us gun nuts say: gun control laws only disarm the people who obey the laws.

You're the one that referred to Asians as gooks, Mr progressive liberal i love all peoples socialist. Do you call them gooks to their faces? Is calling an Asian a gook acceptable in Australia? In the US it's the same as calling a black person a ******.

Oh wait, now I remember your version of liberal tolerance: you trust all people, until the moment that might have a gun, then they can't be trusted (we still haven't heard if they can be trusted while holding a bat or a rock or a knife or anything else dangerous), and you love all people and want no bloodshed and peace and no death penalty and all that happiness, unless it's Asian, sorry, GOOK, criminals blasting each other. You'd fit in great in the US liberal tolerant community - you're extremely tolerant...of anyone that agrees with you. Tolerance means tolerating the things you don't like too, genius.

It's not a nice thing to say. But political correctness in Australia isent as strong here as in the US.

Poms=English
Kiwi's=New Zealanders
Gooks=Asians
Abbos=Aboriginal or black **** when watching the footy :P

Many of the old terms are starting to be seen as racist but PC hasent taken over fully yet.

And even in Law Enforcment and Government it's still acceptable to refer to criminals as "middle eastern, asian" ect. That pisses off the ethnic minorities something shocking. It's just a unnique Australian thing I guess.

Somebody being pissed off at being referred to as what they are (assuming it's with a generally acceptable term that's just accurate) is idiotic PC crap. I'm white, American (by birth), Italian & Irish (by descent). None of those things are an insult. If a person from the middle east or Asia is insulted by being referred to as being middle eastern or Asian, they're being stupid. If they think those things are insults, then they must have a pretty low opinion of where they're from and who they are. But calling someone a gook is a pretty big jump from calling them Asian. Do New Zealanders think of Kiwi as an insult? I would think it's like calling a person from the UK a Brit or calling an Austrailian an Aussie or an American a Yank. They're just nicknames based on shortening other names or similar things (Kiwi fruit comes from NZ, right?).
Believe me, I'm no fan of political correctness - I hate it.

I actually know English people that absolutly hate being called a pom. Hell there is even a support group in Sydney to help Poms who find it offensive when they are called a Pom :P

As you know. I'm a left wing liberal nutcase. But I cant stand PC. It ****s me.

I'll call a spade a spade, not a earth manipulation tool.

Maybe that's something different there too - here, the left wing liberal nutcases are the biggest advocates of PC, and us right wing gun nuts (although I'm very liberal on some things, by US standards) HATE PC...

It's the same here to. But I draw the line when such national character traits are frowned upon. Like the use of slang for example.

Basically the only place PC really belongs is in the boardroom.

Haha

Basically Newcastle is a country town. Insofar the people that live here go. But at 500,000 It's a pretty big country town. Lots of rednecks, aussie pub rock reigns supreme and all the adults think still think it's the 1950's

It's fairly close to Bonnyrigg which was the Serb capital when I lived in Sydney.
