A shopkeeper was shot in the groin in an attempted armed robbery in south-east London early on Wednesday.

A man armed with a shotgun threatened three male workers and a customer at Presco's food store in Southampton Way, Camberwell, just after 0400 BST.

The offender demanded cash before shooting one member of staff in the groin. One worker then hit the suspect over the head.

Both men are being treated in hospital. One man has been arrested.

A police spokesman said neither of the men suffered life-threatening injuries.

I'm sure it was most likley an illegally shortend U/O. So your point of posting this was to say "If one of the customers was packin` this wouldnt of happend." ?

That and the fact that it's illegal for criminals to own guns......but somehow they missed that memo!

I would say it's a coach gun rather than a under and over!

You don't know anything about what type of shotgun it was.

Exactly............and the same goes for you, you have no idea about this firearms background!

If the shopworker who hit the guy over the head was armed, then he might have prevented the shooting & permanently stopped a criminal from reoffending, which is a good thing

Geezah, you're a funny guy, I merely pointed out the truth, you stepped into the realm of speculation and fantasy.

Hang on a mo.....you gave the impression that the firearm that was used was legal, or maybe I need to read over it again and replace shotgun with handgun?

Fancy that, shot with a HANDGUN, of which their are plenty in the UK...

Why have you misquoted me? :|

I merely see the irony in that you take a problem with Britains tight gun control yet this happens with weapon that you can get in the UK rofl

So you think it was a legally held firearm that was used here?
