What are these folks?
Recon or storm (black bereters at least)?
Looks like a session from initial phase of point method quick shooting training (advance phase ends with attack and retreat drills being carried out at night with full team, combat load and live ammo).
The Instructor shouts something like "knestående, bytt magasin!" ("take kneeling position, change mag!") I think.
Obviously the guys appears to have some, as I think I can hear a few laughs among the ranks also .
The place looks like Setermoen to me.

This looks more like a "just for fun" shooting.

Setermoen A-3 range. ;)
Probably caviars, todays fjernoppklaring don't have the same tradition for wearing berets as it used to. And i'm thinking it's more motivation stuff going on... nothing like being a recruit and firing the G-3 full auto for the first time! woot

Personaly from may days with the army, I found the point method shooting sessions much more rewarding than the traditional 200 m ****e position single shot stuff. Maybe because, much to my surprise, I discovered that my point method shooting was more accurate at distance show, than when lying down and shooting single rounds at same distance to "zero in" the sight of the rifle .
(If my memory is correct the projectile trajectory of the AG is such it can either be zeroed in at 20 meters or at 200 meters using the 200 meter range setting on the rear sight).
Though once the soldier next to me, on a similar occasion to this, began to feel a bit bored with it all and decided to double tap all 20 shoots at range shown into the top 10x10 square of his target for a change, and did so with ease . Just by the method of shooting itself, rather than assistance from some sort of red dot gizmo.
Yet, Me being more average than that, could still manage a 70-80% hitrate in same square, when I tried to emulate my neighbour. And quite early in the initial phase of the course at that.
And most other average shooters in my unit had same experience also.

The beret was for camp and morning parade only even in my days.
For "advanced stage" shooting and exercises out in the bush it was woolen knitted "commando cap".

"Caviars"?
Some new kind of slang in the Norwegian army vocabulary?

To nitpick a little, trajectory is 30/200. :)
Storm, and cav in general are still hellbent on wearing their berets no matter, i even think they've got a clause in their dress-regulation stating that they can even wear their berets to combat, as if a cav-skull is any harder (or thicker ) than a normal human head when stuff starts flying...
Don't even think they issue the watchcap to them anymore.

Caviars is anything within PBN, AFAIK. Ie. anything black beret, less the guys in etteretningsbataljonen.

It is taken at setermoen. They are from "Kavaleribataljonen". An armoured rec. unit. This is just fun shooting at the end of the military service.

Great movie!

Can't wait till I'm going up there, allthough I guess it'll be mostly MP5 shooting for my part. (If I am accepted as tank crew, hopefouly driver ;))
But hey! Shootin' is shootin' :)
