Thanks for the pics. Try the Airforce site, and AC-130 they have some nice stuff. Post the small ones please, and links to the hi-res stuff.
I would never say it publicly but they have the best site. The USMC has the most pics. The Navy has a nice site, and the Army site is a pain. Of course the Army site is the only one people should look at. ;-)

A spector is a AC-130
A Puff, and Spooky are (and do not quite me) A AC-47, and a AC- whatever boxcar.
I think the AC-747 is going to be called the Spartan, or Sparticus. ;-)
I don’t know they use s name that sound ghostly. But the AC-130 is the Specter Gunship.

I thought the spooky (AC-130U) was the upgraded spectre :|
well I'm confused anyway... When I check google I find a load of C47 gunships named spooky and a bunch of upgraded ac130's

ac 747?
anyone have more info on that?
I assume it's based on the boeing 747 which doesn't seem like a very good airframe for the task (too fast, too big, flies too high etc.) unless they were going for a new bomber oid but then I'd rather have a b52
someone should turn A400M into a gunship :D

No offense to these pilots, but they are very very picky about their weather and they only fly at night, because they are afraid of being shot down? But there very affective when their up there

were these spooky's ore specters?
The AC-130A/E/H are Spectre (though the E is actually the Pave Spectre) and the AC-130U is Spooky although most people just refer to the AC-130 as Spectre in general.

You're joking right? AC-130's fly almost exclusively at night and their sensors can see through any type of weather condition. Why in the world would a giant, slow moving plane want to fly in broad daylight? :bash:

OK Mr. Smarty pants. I were in a little error ( I was somewhat wrong in unglish).
You are correct. The AC-130U is a freaking spooky. As was an AC-47
THERE ! ( Hay my son is in the AF, I just worked with them from time, to time)

Yes I have seen things like that also. BUT IMOHO they will look for a InterTheater transport, and something slower. They talk a great deal of replacing my sons airframe, but like the Gunships it seems that’s further down the line then most on going projects. I have even seen stuff on using an Osprey.

Pop still refers to it as "Puff the Magic Dragon". But it was 1969 the last time he saw one in action.
