I think you should go home, think of a specific question, then come back and post it in the equipment forum. But that's just me.

"Dude a Airforce guy telling me to go home!!!! Have you ever fired the M4- Carbine in combat?"

Was the point of your question to draw someone into a flame war? No, I haven't fired an M4 in combat, but as an armor and instructor, I bet I know a lot more than the average joe about the M4, and I know when to use a and when to use an in a sentence (so as not to appear to be a 15 year old trying to sound cool on the internet). My point was for you to formulate a real question and then post it in the appropriate area. I'm not even going to ask if you have fired an M4 in combat, because in this meduim, there is no way for me to verify if your answer is in any way based in truth. "go home" was just a figure of speach for you to rethink and rephrase your question. Now you have your self a really fine Air Force day, and have fun with the exclamation points on your response to this. ;)

air force has the gdu? or something
its what they call an m4.
maybe if they stopped spending so much money on other things they could get tactical weapons.
 j/k, just alittle dig at the sfs guys who skated the 2 years i worked with them.

M4's are best, imo
i want to get a bushmaster .308 carbine
that would be a nice toy.

Hell yes, I'll make fun of the Air Force with their crew rest and luxury living...

Contrary to popular belief, the GUU and GAU 5P are not just M4s by another name. They are Colt Commandos, some of which have been updated to have the M4 profile (heavy barrel, flat top, rail systems, etc).
They typically have Auto capability, instead of three round burst, also they will often have reflex sights or AGOGs mounted. The Air Force is adopting M4s and Security Forces as well as other units are transitioning to them. The M4s that the Air Force are adopting are the Army's version that have Burst instead of auto. Also you will only see the M68 (or Aimpoint) optic mounted on them, as that is the only optic authorized for the Air Force M4. If you visited a lot of Security Forces vaults around the Air Force, you would find a lot of the GAU/GUU 5Ps in their original state (light barrel, fixed carry handle, two position stock, etc). Most of the GAU/GUUs we see that have the M4 look, are the special operations weapons.

yeah that sounds right

i heard the new m4's (for the air force)
will be coming from bushmaster?
and with the holographic sights?

USAF G

Negative, all the ones I have seen are Colt, and the only optic approved for them is the M68. The holo sights would be cool, but alas the powers that be say M68. p-)

Paratrooper82: A weenie troll? What do you think?

--------

Yes, assmonkey, I have fired an M16 in combat while serving in the Air Force. Well before your sorry ass was even in big-boy pants.

If you truly are 82nd then you might want to remember A) How you actually get to the drop zone B) Who's on the ground BEFORE you get there directing the drop.

Its not a hard answer - that would be the AIR FORCE. Check it out next time you climb on board the airplane and see the big letters USAF.

One day you'll grow up and stop the inter-service bull****.

Lately, the price of 6.8mm has been fairly high. I'd wait until more of it floods the market and brings the price down.. I saw about 500 or so going for 300 bucks! I don't know though. You've been in the military, but have you had to reload any of your ammo?

Anyways, I'm not in the military, but I own a Bushmaster carbine which is similar to the M4. It's reliable, fun to shoot, and overall, well worth the money.

Never used an m4, but i have had the chance to play around with c8. Nice weapon and after having to lug a c6 around for the last few weekends a c8 felt like it should be shot with one hand ;) .

BTW just keeping in line with this thread, what do you guys think of the 30 round mag. I always felt that 33 would be better, that way I would have better luck. :slap:
