Thanks for the pics, great post.

OK a few reasons why they carry P-90s.

1. They all watch the Great TV show SG-1
2. UZIs cannot be taken to some countries.
3. Scorpions, the replacements for the UZI for those countries are outdated.
4. They think they look cool, back to number 1
5. It is a nice weapon.

1. It is compact and easy to wield in any kind of location.

has anyone here ever shot this weapon. How does it feel? It looks so damn short! Remember, i'm 6'7" so everything looks short to me but it seems Uzi short!

Yes, great, no felt recoil, stays in line, ejection clear downwards, slight pressure on trigger= single shot, full pressure = bursts; only fired 50 rounds with it but I liked it.

Yeh, it's a usless BB gun.

It's a pretty pointless weapon. Although the Puruvians used it in the Japanese embasy take down, it had some serious issues with range and leathality.

The geliton tests were pretty good, but it just didn't transfer to real life.

It's a nice concept, but the round is far to feable.

it is indeed a fine weapon to handle. Put thousands of rounds through it, and it handles like a charm. The problem concerning reliability comes from the magazines. They tend to stop feeding rouds in dusty environments. As for lethality/stopping power. The speed of the cartridge will make sure you can put it through body armor at 100m guaranteed. But speed will make it overpenetrate soft targets, so shot placement is essential; no problem since any jerk can use this weapon. Takes some getting used to the controls, but that's with every weapon if you ask me.... Subsonic ammo combined with the silencer makes it quiter than the MP5SD, also a pro..... but because of the magazine, I prefer to take my M4.....

You'll find that there may not be a particular technical reason why weapons such as that P90 are used by those agents. It is most likely because the person who makes the decisions on which weapons they carry liked it and thats that. Most LE departments will get new pistols every now and again because the person making the decisions decides that he/she will use money out of the budget to issue a cool new gun to everybody not always because it is tactically superior to the previous but because they want something new.

Bullets are stored sideways in the magazine (50 rounds) and turned by 90 degrees before the are feeded into the chamber.
