Damn, hasn't the US army already undergone this situation back in Vietnam during the 60's ?
It would just be too bad if the US army guys would turn into drug addicts and the hippie-era would start all over again.
EDIT: Come on, is this really happening?

That comming from the RUSSIAN drug Czar
You're going to find that in every military in the World.
This is the case of seeing a speck in the other eye but not seeing the plank in your own.

I'm sure there are people in the Military addicted to drugs, just like there are civilians addicted to drugs. This is nothing new. I now for a fact several Military personnel who were "addicted" to drugs. Not me though...I'm addicted to "***"...Yeah baby!!!

Yes, the U.S Army does, but if you know the NCO aka "Piss NCO" who is going to be giving the test...You usually know a good week in advance.

Since when has weed been "technically" legal in Britain. Sure, depending on where you are you get charged or not but that doesn't make it tecnically legal, it's up to the coppper who arrests you.

Whoops my post was a bit unclear, my bad. I didn't mean it was legal. I meant its illegal but its a crime that is often over looked depending on where you are, who you are, how much you have, who caught you etc.
Cannabis is NOT legal anywhere in the UK. This is a common misconception, purely down to the media getting their facts wrong and the general public being daft enough to believe it. :bash:
Cannabis at the moment is still a Class B drug under the Misuse Of Drugs Act 1971, which means it is an arrestable offence to be in possession of it, etc. The maximum penalty for possession is 5 years under S.24 PACE Act 1984.
At the moment, police officers are advised to use their discretion when dealing with people caught in possession of cannabis. You can arrest, or simply send them on their way. It's really down to you. If they are smoking a joint, I'd just make them stub it out and clear them off. It simply isn't worth the hassle and mountain of paperwork for one small joint. If I caught someone with gear in lots of little plastic bags, they'd get arrested, as you've got grounds for possession with intent to supply, which can lead to other offences coming to light at a later date.
At the moment there is no power of arrest for persons in possession of a Class C drug. You can report people for summons to court, which carries a maximum penalty of 2 years inside. The public therefore think that when cannabis is reclassified to Class C, they can smoke as they please without fear of arrest - wrong. Police will lose the power of arrest on declassification, but thanks to the new Criminal Justice Bill a new power of arrest for Class C drugs is being created, and giving it "power of arrest" status makes it more serious, with an increased sentence as a result. Clause 11 of the Criminal Justice Bill 2003 in Parliament includes a schedule amendment to the Schedule 1A (specific offences which are arrestable offences) PACE Act 1984. In laymen's terms, it will make possession of a Class C drug an arrestable offence. Quote from CJB 2003;
"In Schedule 1A to the 1984 Act (specific offences which are arrestable offences), after paragraph 6 there is inserted—
Misuse of Drugs Act 1971
6A An offence under section 5(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (c. 38)
(having possession of a controlled drug) in respect of a Class C drug
(within the meaning of that Act).”
The public and press are generally ignorant of the finer aspects of the law, and I promise you that there will be an awful lot of people will get caught arrogantly smoking cannabis in public, thinking they are immune - until CJB 2003 comes in. The only reason we could think of for this reclassification is to appease the legislation lobby and the left wingers. However the Government will have the last laugh. :D

Let me rephrase my previous response...When I was in the Army (92-97) in my unit, you knew the "pee pee" NCO...and you knew a probable piss test was around the corner...There. :fork:

ROFL!
The Pravda sounds real reliable, anyone who knows **** about Russia would know that the Pravda was the official newspaper of the communist party. Sounds really credible as they don't even give a single example, not to mention the abused drug.
It isn't anymore though..
