Heh, I think he is stuck...
Can someone explain to me why they put white tape on the firearm, instead of applying full camo to it? :?

I am amazed, I don't see many armies using the basic green coloured battle-dress anymore and now seeing that the Austrians seem to be using it makes me very happy...
Nice going, Austria.

Agreed, I remember reading about the Canadians using or once using the green fatigues.
But I thought that the green stuff were no longer in use, thought that CADPAT had taken it all over.
What a positive outcome, thinks me.

On my BMQ course ony like 1 instructor had the basic green uniform however all but 1 private recruit has the basic green including me. How weve been told it works is when we are done our BMQ and our SQ and MOC we will be given the CADPAT uniform but until then it really just depends on your individual units stock. Like most of the guys from the Ontario Armoured Regiment had all brand new kit and some of the other recruits had bull**** used stuff, so yeah it really depends i guess.

If you are talking about Canada, you're wrong.
The Canadian military has been using kevlar helmets for quite a while now. I would be suprised to learn that there were some troops still using the old steel pots. Maybe for training, but that's it.

Say, did you know that the Austrian Minister of Defense gave Arnold Schwarzenegger the M47 tank he drove during his Austrian Army stint....

"Hasta la vista, Gray Davis" - Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger drives his Austrian M47 tank in Columbus, Ohio, when he turned the vehicle over to the Motts Military Museum for display. The tank is one of his favorite things.

Yeah, Austria must ben one of the only countries that traded in camo utilities for OD ones. They had a pretty cool pattern, imho.

wow :cantbeli: no not at all they are just discussing green uniforms.( and whether they are good or not)
Oh btw great pics :D , you guys for the most part look truly professional.…………I just have one comment on one of them
http://www.bundesheer.gv.at/images_skaliert/haeuserkampf_864x610_1054726268.jpg
Now tactically speaking from what I can tell from that pic, it’s a bit wrong (I think)………. Now it’s a OPSEC violation for me to discuss our (IDF) tactics or what I know about them so I am not going to go into detail…perhaps other soldiers with not my OPSEC concerns can explain or just perhaps other nations do things differently (most likely) and perhaps there is a reason why they do it (I am really talking about the middle operators positioning and his weapon positioning) or also perhaps that split second that the pic was taken was not as how they were engaging………..
Yes I know I am nitpicking a bit but hey this is a military forum (people forget that sometimes ;) ) where nitpicking on military photos and asking questions or discussing details is supposed to happen.
P.S. were you in the Austrian military??
shalom :D
(I am really talking about the middle operators positioning and his weapon positioning)
You mean the way he holds the weapon is rather odd since this way he'll have to take the time to position the weapon when he want's to engage any targets that might surprise them?
