Awhile ago I posted a thread with a letter inside, from a 101st Airborne soldier stationed in Mosul, Iraq. It was talking about what he went through and what the conditions were like there. You can see the thread here:

He was a brother-in-law of one of my dad's co-workers; yesterday, he was killed by a roadside bomb. He was riding in a convoy when the bomb exploded, and two others were also injured.

Roadside bomb kills U.S. soldier in Mosul
Also Sunday, a U.S. soldier was killed and two others wounded when a roadside bomb struck their convoy in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, according to a spokeswoman with the 101st Airborne Division.
The blast happened in the northwestern part of the city, shortly after noon (4 a.m. EST), according to Master Sgt. Kelly Ann Tyler.
Including the latest report, 445 U.S. troops have died in the Iraq war, 307 from hostile fire. Of those, 306 were killed after President Bush declared an end to major combat on May 1, 192 of those from hostile fire.
The death comes a day after U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld flew to Iraq and received an upbeat update on the fight against insurgents and efforts to build Iraqi security forces.
This was a shock to me....I haven't had anyone this close to me killed in any war - it hit close to home deeper than I could of thought.
I plan on making a tribute sig for him, when I get the time.
Rest in Peace, man.... *Salute*
