Maybe a silly question, but what is it with the americans calling everything big "Uber" (btw it's "über"). I just recognized it not too long ago.
Is it just another import like Kindergarten or Angst, or is there any special meaning if you use it?

I just noticed that as well, the younger crowd seems to say it a bunch (im 28). My fiances younger brothers have been saying it alot, it drives me nuts. Its just another trendy saying, although I did hear one of the kids swearing in german as well so maybe he just was in a german speaking mood, or you have stummbled upon our conspiracy to steal the german language one word at a time.

Funny though, but when i read Uber without Über it sounds totally different, i wonder how they say it.
