It is 4:40am in Chicago, I cant sleep but I have the day off tommarow so I dont care. What do I see, a republican funded commercial on why the democrats should stop there "witch hunt" against Bolton, the gentleman who bush wants to represent us at the UN. I dont know how much more crap from republicans and democrats we need to listen to in order to realize this guy is not the man for the job. My main beef though is why are there political ads being run now? In the UK you cant even buy airtime during a political race, so why do we now have them now months after the election. I fear this is the start of something that will fowl up politics and divide us even more in this country. Political ads between elections, no thank you. oh by the way I have only seen them on fox news, what a suprise.

Where can one find web information (biography, etc.) on this mr. Bolton?
We do not know much about him in Eurowussieland and I'd like to form myself an opinion on this guy.
TIA and Regards

Apparently he has a rather brusque management style - the severity of which will depend upon who is telling the story. The upshot of his modus operandi is that he does get things done. The Dems are attempting to block his confirmation not on the basis that he is not qualified, or that he doesn't produce results, but because he has made some former underlings unhappy. And isn't that what's really important?
It will be better to have somebody at the UN -who instead of instigating and insisting on change - will instead go with the flow, not make waves, and will keep everybody happy. It is better to just go along with everybody else and keep our heads down.
Hell, Teddy Roosevelt was also quite prickly - but I guess it was not an issue then. We must now delay, investigate, and convene a tribunal to discuss every allegation of unkind words or pubic hairs left on coke bottles.

Political Ads run anytime there's a major hot button issue facing Congress. Look at the AARP ads about Social Security reform. The ads are not restricted to only election years and the summer and fall, so don't worry about it. Fox, and all the others, have to cover their expenses and an easy way to make a buck is to sell air time to a group to air an ad.
