I know this might seem like a stupid question to all those experts out there, but I'm just a teenager. Ok here goes, why is black ops so special and elite? And are they better than for example US special forces?

....this does, however, open the door for the Defence Dept.
Now when some idiot reporter asks a question about covert operations, the briefer can look him/her in the eye and say: "It's a black thing, you wouldn't understand."
black ops are operations carried out with extreme sensativity, covert. these operations can be carried out by various units, such as CIA SAS or Special Forces or HRT, but the keyword is covert-deniability and secrecy. Black ops is governemnt term secret mission, however, many units consistently partake in black ops that they are often synonymous with the word.

For all intents and purposes, Special Forces Operations Detachment Delta is black ops since the government does not recognize its exsistence. I guess Delta is more gray ops since its existence is well known if not recognized by the government.
Most Black Ops are planned and led by the CIA and supported with the likes of Navy SEALS, Army Rangers, Army SF and Delta Force, AFSOC among others.

There's also the distinct possibility that there are units that are not commonly known to exist...........
