Please post WWII-era load bearing equipment (pictures) and try to explain it a little (if possible).

(O' course i tried googling but i couldn't come up with anything, only pictures from "Brothers in Arms").

This is not restricted to U.S. or allied equipment, i wanna see it all.

from what I understand the yanks had one. they tried to use it during the invasion of normandy the only problem is, it liked to suck up water. so they didn't use it that often past the combat trials pretty much. never really seen any decent clear pics of it though.

Ya talking about a load-bearing vest?

But i've meant all kinds of "tactical" storage equipment for ammo, such as pockets rigged on pistol belts and on Y-straps.
