This is like something out of LA but it's Manchester :(
Gang members who clashed in a hospital - causing medics and patients to "flee for their lives" - have been jailed.
The members of the notorious Gooch Close and Longsight Crew gangs stumbled across each other at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Preston Crown Court heard.

The gang members had caused "mayhem and panic"
Gang members were in the hospital in April 2004 for treatment after being victims of "drive-by" shootings.
Eight admitted affray and two admitted public order offences. The judge issued custodial and community sentences.
The court was told gang members had chased each other through hospital corridors on bikes and pulled guns on their rivals.
But the guns were smuggled out of the hospital in the chaos after police arrived and arrested several gang members and no firearms charges were brought.
They had clashed in corridors, wards, the x-ray department and the fracture department, causing "mayhem and panic", Robert Elias, prosecuting, said.
The trouble started after Fabio Ricketts, 20, from the Gooch Gang, spotted a rival in the hospital, he added.
The Longsight Crew then phoned fellow gang members for back up and two waves of hoodlums soon descended on the hospital, he said.
"The arrival of the second group caused panic amongst hospital staff and members of the public," he added.

Medics and staff fled from the gang members
"At least two individuals were armed with firearms, or imitation firearms, one had a hammer.
"Hospital staff, patients and visitors fled for their lives."
As one gang member fled the scene and jumped over a desk, his gun went skimming over the floor, the court heard.
Passing sentence, Judge Andrew Gilbart QC, said: "Hospitals are essential to the well-being of all and an essential feature of a civilised society.
'Disgraceful scene'
"It's a place for care and compassion. I'm not aware of any previous case where the corridors of a hospital and its clinics have been turned into a battleground for the continuation of a feud by street gangs.
"This was a disgraceful scene in the hospital corridors and clinics. The effect on patients and staff were dramatic and some require counselling."
Five members of the Longsight Crew were jailed. They were Warren Laing, 25, for 20 months, Tyrone Gilbert, 21, for 20 months, Matthew McFarquahar, 18, for 16 months, Rennie Dixon, 26, for 26 months, and Mark Carroll, 20, for 20 months.
Three of the Gooch Gang were jailed. Antonio Wint, 18, for 20 months, Fabio Ricketts, 20, for 30 months, and Faisal Aszal, 19, for 21 months. All eight men had pleaded guilty to affray.
Aszal, Wint and Ricketts were also given five year ASBO orders.
Leon Johnson, 27, was given three months but released because of time spent on remand in jail. Bradley Holland, 18, was given 100 hours community service. Both admitted public order offences.

What kinds of sentences are these? Doesn't sound like jail time.

I keep locking little tossers like this up and they either get 'community' sentences where they have to go to the Youth offending Team. Once there they just tell the people what they want to hear and back off to drug dealing after. Or they go to jail and are back on the streets in weeks..dont get me wrong I like my job and the overtime that people like this produce but it gets fraustrating sometimes

Update:
Man held over park girl's death
A man in his 20s was arrested today in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Mary-Ann Leneghan.
Police raided three addresses in south London at 4am and arrested the man, who is being held in custody awaiting questioning.
A £10,000 reward has been offered for information into the death of the teenager from Reading in Berkshire.
Her body was found with a stab wound to the neck in Prospect Park, Tilehurst, Reading, early on Saturday.
Her 18-year-old friend remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital after suffering a shotgun wound.
Detective Superintendent Mark Warwick of the Thames Valley Police major crime unit is leading the investigation.
Referring to this morning's arrest, he said: "Our inquiries led us to three addresses in London which were searched by officers, resulting in the arrest of a man in his 20s who is now in the custody of Thames Valley Police.
"This man will be questioned throughout today.
"Our main focus continues to be finding the offender or offenders responsible for this horrendous attack and bringing them to justice.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the girls involved and they have our deepest sympathies.
"We owe it to them to find out who is responsible for this murder and assault."
Mr Warwick repeated an appeal for information on the occupants of a maroon-coloured four-door saloon car which the girls were seen in late on Friday night.
He said up to 60 police officers and support staff were working on the case, taking calls and following up inquiries.
"We do believe there was a reason for this attack and we continue to work to find out what the precise motive was," he added.
A post-mortem examination concluded that Mary Ann died from a stab wound to the neck.
Her 18-year-old friend remains in a serious condition hospital and is helping officers their inquiry.
The pair's ordeal began between 10pm and 11pm Friday evening when they were approached by a group of men in a car park near the disused Wallingford Arms public house in Caroline Street, Reading.
They were taken from a white car to the maroon car which was parked in Wickes car park on Weldale Street, and arrived at the Abbey Guest House on Connaught Road at 1am.
The vehicle, which was playing loud music and contained the girls and up to six men, left the guest house between 3am and 5am.
Police believe the car was being driven erratically and at speed and have appealed for any witnesses to step forward.
It is thought that while at the guest house the girls were subjected to numerous "horrific and terrifying" assaults, police said.
They were then taken to Prospect Park where the older girl, believed to be called Melissa, escaped and raised the alarm.
Mary-Ann's body was found by police at 5.30am.
Today, grieving pupils from nearby Prospect College, which was attended by Mary-Ann, placed school ties on top of floral tributes near the scene of the killing.
During morning break a few of the students clasped their hands in prayer while others, some of whom were crying, huddled together.
Before heading in for classes, Scott Yule, 16, who was in most of Mary Ann's classes, said: "I saw her the day before she was killed.
"I saw her, her mate and some boys. She looked like she was with some dodgy people. She looked miserable and sad.
"What happened the next day kind of fits what I saw."
Scott said Mary-Ann was confident, popular and "had a big mouth, everyone knew her".
He said: "Six months ago she was happy, then she took a turn for the worse."
She then started to miss school, he added.
Prospect College said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of Mary-Ann Leneghan.

I heard that the girl that had been stabbed also had her head head shaved along with cigarette burn marks.
