All the boots are the same, but they come in 2 colors: Black and Red/Brown.
The Paras (and some other Special units) get the Brown ones.
The rest get the Black.

I don't know about the Israeli army, but at least back here the various beret colours represent the military/ army branch you have received training for/belong to.

Of course the darker coloured (Black, dark blue) ones could be considered "Cooler" than the green ones, but that has nothing to do with the topic.

(In past, the black ones was heavier than the brown ones that was given to spicial units, today all combat units have the same boots, just different color. The girls seems to like it to ;) )

you mean weapons... armor is israely made (kata's cermic vests are one of the best in the world)

and about the weapons.. dont worry about "your money" (the thing is we buy american made weapons means doing good to the economy of usa) the tavor will be in idf arsenal soon.
