anandtech claims that the X360 that is claimed to be playable in Microsoft's booth is a hoax.
The console isn't running the games, Power Mac G5s are running them.

Microsoft is showing off its X360 titles in E3, the problem is that the games aren't running on a X360 console but on a Powermac G5.

Actually read the link and see for yourself.

A pair of Apple Powermac G5 systems were actually running the Xbox 360 demos, not the 360 console. The consoles in the kiosks weren't actually running, they were just for show - now you know why all the controllers were wired.

As I understand Microsoft have commented and said that they were using Alpha kits or some sort of Dev kit, which happened to be the Apple G5's

E3 is a big waste of time to be honest; it's all just a bunch of over rated hype.

Yes, the G5's are actually the Xbox 360 developer kits. There is no scam and MS didnt get owned because Sony was running their stuff off of PS3 dev kits aswell...

Not realy, Sony still haven't let anyone to play the PS3 in the show, the one that they did show (when they unveild the PS3) was running and they used it to run the demoes.

But except of Epic's (UT2007) and EA's stuff it was all pre-rendered or at least most of it was.

Yes i'm aware, but those realtime items were running off of the devkits in the back.

I dont know if they were running off computers or not, but from what I have read ps3 will crush the new xbox. I havent bought a console since SNES, thats quite some time, I will however buy a ps3. Plus, sony will get the better titles, there is a Jon Woo directed game staring chow yun fat, its supposed to be a continuation of the movie Hard Boiled, thats enough for me.
