I thought I share some of my WW2 pictures with you that I am positive you never seen before. They come from a European magazine printed in 1940 and 1941 combined into a book. Very interesting stuff, thousands of pictures, covering all what was happening in the world from the Axis point of view. Since the pages are very fragile I cant use a scanner, instead I took pictures of the pages with my digital camera and fixed it up a little to be visible
Enjoy!

There's a wholse set of them, I've got them somewhere. Tons of stamps issued by the Reich during that period, they don't necessarily bring a premium because there were so many made, so if you shop around you can find good deals.
I'll scan a couple of the more interestin military sets if I can get a few minutes to go dig them up.

Look at his face, his expression, a face of a ******ly disfunctional man with a young boy. That's ALL I am saying, you made the rest of it up yourself.
He's smiling to the camera just like any other person would. Hitler was actively involved with German youth's development to make sure they grow up to be perfect nazis.

Great pics, especially of the Italian Breda 20mm Anti-aircraft gun. . . we need some sights for one of these.
Max Schmelling was indeed a celebrity in the immediate pre-war days and in the early days of the war his identity and time in the FJ's was extensively used by Goebels and his propaganda machine.

I just want to let you all know, that other than the last few about Norway and Denmark, most of the pictures came from the 1941 editions and I still have plenty more coming from the 1940's.
As kid helping out, I found these magazines 20 years ago, hidden between two walls when we remodeled our house back in Hungary. The previous owners of it belonged to the local German minority group called Schwabs, who must've hid it to preserve them. The red army searched everyone's house for food, valuables and if this kind of stuff was found, you can just imagine the conseqences. I am not posting these images to serve any kind of agenda of mine, other than showing historical events taking place from a different, to me very interesting, perspective.

The correct name is Dunkerque in French (maybe Dunkerk in english), up in the northern coasts of france when the french army was surrounded. Concerning another post, Stalin's son was executed as Stalin refused to deal with the German, trying to show that he would not treat his son differently than any other Soviets (being "the father of all", not just one soldier).
Where in Hungary are you from? what was left of my family fled from budapest after the 1956 failure.

Very interesting, thanks. You would think that the Germans would've kept stalin's son alive as a bargaining chip for the future.
My Father fought during 1956 too, he was captured, luckily by Hungarian communists, when he was trying to leave. He was questioned, beaten and allowed to go a few days later. The funny part is, that 15 years later he ran into the guy who beat him. :bash:

As far as I know, they did. But Stalin refused to trade his son for some high commanding German officer. So they had no choice but to kill him.

That translates as 'Two people, one fight/struggle' right? I worked that out without a translation tool, English and German are similar when written down sometimes, we have the 'folk' as an old English word for people. V is ****ounced as F in German, so it's easy to see where our ancesters shared a language etc....

Depending on the story you read, they either killed him or he commited suicide by running into the guard wire to be shot.
But stalin had absolutely no pitty for any of his family.

That translates as 'Two people, one fight/struggle' right?Good try, but it actually means "two nations, and one struggle".
"Das Volk" is - directly translated - the same as "Folks" in English, but in the sence the Nazis as used on that stamp it actually meant the nation.

Yea, to my understanding. The Vichy French Government was just formed, and the British didn't want to have 3 French Battleships fall into enemy hands. (Basically, some of the france's best ships right there.) They asked them if they wanted to join them, or die. French battleships reply was "We are part of Vichy France, we are netural, we will return fire," bah bah bah, Brits sank the ships and ran back into the Atlantic, as this happened in North Africa, I think.
(My Info there isn't 100%, off the top of my head)
correct. these jerks were asked to join the brits, and they refused.

here is the story:
Strasbourg
Dunkerque-class battleship (1f/2m). L/B/D: 703.6 × 102.0 × 31.5 (214.5m × 31.1m × 9.6m). Tons: 35,500 disp. Hull: steel. Comp.: 1,431. Arm.: 8 × 13 (2 × 4), 16 × 13cm, 8 × 37mm, 32 mg; 4 aircraft. Armor: 9.6 belt, 5.2 deck. Mach.: steam turbines, 4 screws, 112,500 shp, 31 kts. Built: Chantiers & Ateliers de la Loire (Penhoët), St. Nazaire, France; 1938.
Under the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty, the French government was allowed to build a total of 70,000 tons of capital ships. Wary of German and Italian construction plans, but pressed by domestic financial considerations, France opted for the battleships Dunkerque and Strasbourg with a standard displacement of only 26,500 tons—considerably under the allowed limit. Strasbourg mounted eight 13-inch guns in two quadruple turrets, both mounted forward of the bridge structure. Assigned to the Atlantic Squadron, at the start of World War II, Strasbourg took part in the search for the German raider Admiral Graf Spee in late 1939. Transferred to the Mediterranean following the French capitulation to Germany and the establishment of the Vichy government, she was sent to the Algerian port of Mers el-Kébir near Oran, together with her sister ship and the battleships Bretagne and Provence. On July 3, the British government demanded that the French commanders disperse their fleet to overseas ports, disarm their ships, or surrender outright. Admiral Gensoul refused, and HMS Hood, Barham, and Resolution opened fire; only Strasbourg escaped serious injury and made a run for Toulon. Scuttled in November 1942 and later raised, following the war she was used for weapons tests before being scrapped finally in 1955

Young Belarusians shipped to Germany as forced laborers, 1942.
Himmler has ****ounced a plan according to which 3/4 of Belarusian population was designated to "eradication" and 1/4 of racially cleaner population (blue eyes, light hair) would be allowed to serve Germans as slaves. Mass executions of entire villages were a common Nazi practice. Many Belarusian youth were shipped to Germany as slaves.

Maybe. That is if you have only the picture to rely on. But there are hundreds of testimonials of such events. That's why extermination camps were invented in the first place, even SA troops after a while couldn't handle what they were doing.

I wouldn't be suprised if the second picture is a fake propaganda shot done by the soviets. If she was shot for real, at least she was not raped, nailed to a tree and used for target practice in front of her child soviet style. Also stalin and the rest all the way to the 80's deported their own people into slave labour camps for no reason in peactime regularly. The Germans killed less Ukrainians and Belorussians than the soviets have, so there you have it. The difference between nazis and soviets is their color of uniform, that's all.

1956 was the first nail in the couffin of the ussr, therefore it was a good thing, as was 1968. It showed the true brutality of the soviet russian regime to the world. Thank God, Democracy has defeated both evils, communism and nazism, therefore we should just be happy.
