That's a nice movie !! Who are the guys that videotaped it , interesting .
Those were soldiers , if i am not mistaken , interesting why they not familiar with incoming dreal . They luck that those bastards are good correctors , and hit from 3 shell right inside the base .
Nice mortars respond time also . Interesting why they choose to respond to that mount fold (is that how you call it ? ) , in such quick time .
Did that happened a lot in Aphganistan ? Seams that base build with total ignore to indirect fire ( lack of special concrit cubical against mortars ) .

I seen 2 videos...one where a soldier looks like he was walking towards a bomb and suddenly an explosion right under him. Another one where a convoy is aproaching a bridge and a road side bomb goes off and the video continues to shoot while they are getting medivac.

Man, quite something that. A question - why were they mortaring that ridgeline? I don't know anything about 105mm rockets (but the ridge seemed a little too close to me?) or the US "fire finder" capabilities.... anyone care to educate me a bit?

:) Yeah, they presumably thought so - my question should perhaps have been this: were they just picking a ridge at random, or did they KNOW the rocket fire was coming from there? I'm just curious, not trying to make any sort of comment here.......

I'm sure they used a fire finder. They wouldn't just blow the crap out of one specific part of the mountain.

those rockets have a greater range than that, but if you watched 60 minutes a few weeks ago, you would of seen how they fire them off, they lay them on the ground and point them in the general direction of the target. they prolly have to be able to see the target if they wanna hit anything...

Those ain't no rockets.
Those are simple mortar rounds . When you hear this sound (most scary sound ever ) , that means it's a incoming mortar , or arty round . You can also see that it took aproximatly 3 rounds of correction to get inside compound . Where they firing at ? That's a good question , there can be a lot of answers to that . I am just surprised that the responce time was quick , more or less .

The first thing in my mind was how unprofessional the soldiers was, probably because of inexperience with such things. It was like if they saw something on the big screen in the cinema, not in real life, "oh yeaaah this is fooking cool maaaan".

The second thing in my mind was, what the hell were they responding too? There is no possibility in the world that there was any mortars, or even worse, howitzers on the place where they responded. Maybe a forward observer, nothing more. But I have a hard time thinking that he would be on that place then, just begging to get hit by a machinegunner or sniper from the camp. I don´t think there was nobody/nothing there.

Unbellievable that those bases aren't protected from undirect fire attacks . Not one AT-cubical , or AM-cubical on the base . Not mentioning the poor base position.

Yes , something like that . But , well , as you know , what is the first rule when you are engaged with non direct fire (after relocate /to take defensive positions) ? Respond as quick as possible with large fire consentration to the possible direction of the threat , and only after this innitial fire regroup and attack in orderly way.

I must say they for they defence , that they started to return fire rather quickly , don't you think ?
Did you also noticed that the rounds got quickly inside the base ? After 3 round i bellieve . They had good corrector there .
