Two-time ACADEMY AWARDŽ winner Barbara Kopple (Harlan County, USA; Wild Man Blues; The Hamptons), three-time EMMY AWARDŽ winner Bob Eisenhardt and Marijana Wotton create yet another powerful documentary as they chronicle five female journalists into the line of fire during the War in Iraq and other perilous assignments. This film intimately examines the personal and professional lives of five women journalists at different stages of their careers as they attempt to put a human face on otherwise impersonal tragedies.

Images and words have the power to shape public conscience; journalists bear witness to the weight of history, reminding us that the world extends beyond our backyards. BEARING WITNESS tells the stories of intrepid reporters who take substantial personal risks as they cover the world's hot spots. These women provide a unique view of life inside Iraq told from a first hand perspective that doesn't make it to our televisions. Their stories will take the audience on an important journey into the often intense, personal, dramatic and compelling stories that too often go unnoticed. We will experience the risks taken and the personal toll the field takes on the reporters willing to brave the world's war zones.

Each of these women has covered the world's most incredible stories. We will tell their personal stories of triumph and sacrifice. Filmed over the course of one year, BEARING WITNESS weaves together the stories of these five incredible women into a revealing cinematic tale about the women behind the stories.

Looks interesting, just as long as it doesn't turn out to be another pro-Mujahed flick (like BEAST).
