All of the pictures above the X's except the one of the boat, and the guys firing that missile are British.

Great pics in general………
Just curious…which AR is the operator from our left (us looking at the screen) carrying?
I have a good guess but I will wait for other opinion’s to verify it or not.
Lastly I know this is way off topic but Id rather not start a new topic or thread on just this one question.
A friend emailed me an article on Israeli MOUT tactics and in the last paragraph after a long and detailed analysis, the author writes
“Just a bunch of random thoughts. In the movie "Black Hawk Down", apparently there's a line (haven't seen
it) where a Delta guy tells some soldier "stay away from the walls, keep to the middle of the street" or something to that effect”
Now I saw the movie and loved it and I feel it was one of the best war movies of all time…………now I don’t recall seeing that line nor do I remember it (I haven’t seen it in over a year) so A, is that line there B, do delta or other U.S. forces really use that principle in MOUT warfare and C, if so why??

I think it looks like a Sig 550 or that type of weapon.
The lines from BHD were near the crash site Sanderson tells Grimes to stay away from the walls
I think this has to do with the richochets and debris that comes off when a round hits the wall

I bellieve i can answer to that one . Welcome back , by the way. They should stay away from the wall , only on opening to another street . Why ? Because the guy that ambushes you , can fire RPG round on the wall itself , and you bye bye , as it shown in Black Hock Down , where this Gramzey guy get's RPG to the wall , where he is standing next to . In places where RPG threat is less real , much more important to stick to the walls .

Thanks for the answers Javehn and Argyll as it pertains to BHD
In general in MOUT, the worst thing to do in MOUT warfare is to stay in the street especially in middle of it.
Though there are exceptions......so I guess I will have to take another look at the movie and see where that scene was said.

If I am correct those guys are Swedish special ops troops, (either Coastal Rangers or Attack Divers), the rifle is AK5, the Swedish version of the Belgian FNC. The rocket luancher is a Carl Gustov.

Future Marine, this is from GI Jane, which, while a movie with some enjoyable parts, is not exactly real SeALs. :bash:

The 5th SFG guys that came to brief us on weapons said that the Somalis would shoot down the sides of the walls to help (they were poor shots) and also the bullets will actually "ride the walls". Makes sense to me.

Yeah TF they were that poor they shot down 2 BlackHawks, and hit a 3rd ;)

And wasted several dozens RPG rounds in the process...yep, poor marksmanship indeed. They hit the birds thanks to the law of probabilities... :cantbeli:

Probability or not they took them down!
Shooting down walls is also a clever way to deny cover !
DE_Six

Yes they took them down, there is no denying that, but it's not thanks to their marksmanship. They were poor shots, and drug-addled to boot. They just "sprayed and prayed".

Point is they were successful though. Its no good standing up on TV and saying that the helicopters that were shot down "don't count" just because they were lost due to the 'laws of probability'. A hits a hit.
Anyway don't wanna start a big argument here.
GI Jane was a great movie  I deserve to be :bash: for saying that.

I remember reading an article by a 160th SOAR pilot stating the # of RPG's shot. I do not remember the exact # but it was in the thousands and thousands. And I believe only 3 crashed. Two in the city and the other safely close to base.
These pilots were flying ROOFTOP altitude with the rotors nearly touching the rooftops. The Somalis were bad shots!
Anyways, how many girls can look decent with a shaved head?!!

No, read further. The point was the poor marksmanship of the Somalis.
Anyway, back to topic.

Yes sir. You are correct, they are Attack divers. If I'm not mistaken, the photo is taken on Korsö in the outer ring of Stockholm's archipelago.

You sure these are SEALs? I thougt I saw something with this pic, and these were promo shots from a documentary, but not actual SEALs? Anyone remember? Probably a useless point, but I thought I'd point it out. I think I recall they were actually airsofters or something hired by a production crew.

Yeh Oates... this looks like one of the oics from an airsofter site I was on (cant remember which one) and they talked about it... they were asked to pose for pictures and to run enactments for video and then the people who took the pictures tried to pass them off as real.
And Oates ... you wouldnt happen to be the canadian oates who is an airsofter ur self are you?

My friend is a Canadian cop who was shown the incident in LA where the two robbers shot hell outa the neighborhood b4 finally being stopped. He said they were told that the way they got the last guy was shooting under the cars because bullets DONT bounce up they roll across the ground when they hit it. In Blackhawk down ... the book... the author mentions the wall thing and states that the bullets dont bounce, they follow the walls. If I remember correctly, the advise wasnt to stay in the middle, but just a couple of feet away from the wall.
