Wales
England
Scotland
are all different countries. Great Britain consists of these three.
The United Kingdom consists of these three plus Northern Ireland.

I think i'm right not entirely sure. There are also some islands dotted around the place as well, Orkneys, Channels Islands etc etc.

Nothern Ireland is not part of Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales Isle of Mann)

I've probably left some out buuuuut
UK (o course, been all over the UK :) ) Canada, US(x3), Norway (good place), Germany(lived there for a bit), Poland, Checkered-cos-Im-pissed-and-cant-spell-at-the-minute republic, all around the Balkans, France (driven though a few times and a few visits), Spain(nice), Turkey(not so nice, but enjoyable none the less), Denmark(Good), Netherlands(fit women everywhere), Italy for a day (Drivers weren't so bad) and a quick jaunt over the Swiss border.
Got Sweden in March, Iceland in June and hopefully either Vietnam or Thailand (haven't decided yet) in late 2004.
Needless to say I like to travel but most of them for business.

Yeah our laws can be kinda strange sometimes and especially for the last 2 years things got screwed up by a centrum-right cabinet... :( But let's hope there's better times ahead on that part :). You have to enlighten me though on what's so beautifull about our country (I've heard other people say it before as well), since I'm kinda confused by it; our country is as flat as a pancake with...well...a lot of green fields, and that's it. :|

I've been there too and despite the best efforts of the terrorists corsica is not a country, it's part of France. and that new hebrides stuff sounds a bit like a random island just off canada, where is it?

He219
12-21-2003, 07:36 PM
Quite true, cut. The "territorial collectivity" of Corse separatists want autonomy from France.

The Andaman Islands are also a part of India, to be technical. Port Blair is home to Britain's 'Cellular Prison', where Indian separatists were jailed and punished using mideval techniques like the rack and the thingy where wrists and ankles are fixed for punishment. The locals say that the 'Japanese liberated' the islands....

The New Hebrides (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hebrides) are an Island chain in the South Pacific that won independence from French and British rule called the Anglo-French Condominium (http://en2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-French_Condominium). Located between Fiji and the Solomans, they bost some spectacular beaches and diving. Rusted pots can still be seen where people were once boiled to be eaten. They are now part of Vanuatu, since I was there in 1987.

I do play! You're welcome to join anythime at 15th St., Balboa Beach - though it's a bit cool right now..

I played Basketball in HS with some great guys. I had seven dunks against Compton High School as a highlight, held the county's highest field-goal percentage, played with the O'Bannon's, Ed Stokes, Cherokee Parks and won the division championship at Compton College's Slam-N-Jam tournament with my teammates. I was fortunate to receive scholarship opportunities to play basketball, but chose to study Architecture and Civil Engineering instead. That all seems like a long time ago now.

I'm so glad you had a good experience here.

We (parents) are good at embarrassing our children with the funny things they say later... new example from my son....

he's 8 and in 2nd grade....
the other day he said....
"Lacey likes Tyler, but Tyler likes Abby"
I said... "hey, Abby is yours"
he said... "I know... sometimes we argue about it... I get Abby... No I get Abby"
I said...."What does Abby have to say about it?"
he said... "I don't know.... it's really none of her concern"

I laughed out loud. I've told several people, and he's quite tired of me telling it already. Plus... he had no idea why I thought it was so funny.

1989 or 90.

Shame you werent there longer, especially around the age of 12 - it was the best place in the world to grow up; completely inadequate police force, expansive deserts and rocky jebels to play soldier in and go camping, foreign guards protecting installations you could easily sneak into, homemade napalm on the back of skateboards.... ahhh fond memories.
