View Full Version : Saddam Hussein and the War in Iraq

I just want everyones opinion but... what is the main reason for going to war with Iraq? I mean it's not like Saddam Hussein is the only dictator in the world, and does he threat the US? Are we going in there to get rid of the weapons of mass distruction? Are we going to go to every country and get rid of the weapons of mass distruction because it shows a possible threat? Or are we going into Iraq because Bush wants to show his Dad that he could do something he couldn't? Anyways, I don't think Saddam poses really much of a huge threat to the US...Saddam does pose a threat to the Iraqi people, but thats not the only country in the world like that, I think it has to do with the Oil, and getting back with Saddam.

Status in the war in Iraq:

600 Soldiers Dead.

12,000 wounded.

Cost 162 Billion Dollors.

Saddam is captured.

No Weapons of mass distruction found.

Osama Bin Laden is still on the lose.

Personally, I think Bush F*cked up badly... what do you guys think??

FutureMarine you might have started yourself a proverbial (spelling farmgirl?) ****storm.

As for Mr Bush all will be decided on the good old voting day in 2004, its up to the American public to decide really if he did the job right or not.

Nah c'mon, he asked a fair question.
As you said, it's up to the voters to decide if he did his job.
As far as I'm concerned, war on Iraq to get rid of Saddam = fine.
But I don't belive he went to war just because of Saddam. There are plenty of much weaker andequally opressive dictators in the world, so why not them, or, if he actually is going to free the opressed, why not attack them to? He supports the dictators in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, why not press on them to reform?

But anyway, my view is free opressed = yeah. But this war wasn't just about that.
