It should make you mad too. Take a second to write them a nasty letter just like I did.

Subject: Recognize my fallen brothers mothers.
To whom it may concern,
I am a Marine Corps veteran of the first gulf war. I had the honor to serve with a number of men who were not US citizens. Fortunately, none of them became casualites of that war. However, if they were injured or killed I would treat them as brothers, not drawing lines and putting up walls. In fact, they ARE my brothers for the mere fact that we shared the experience of war together, wearing the same uniform, regardless of something as insignificant (considering the circumstances) as citizenship.
You should be ashamed of the callous treatment that you've shown the mother of one of my brothers.
You know what/who I'm talking about.
“We can’t go changing the rules every time the wind blows.”
“We can’t go changing the rules every time we turn around. . . ”
These flippant comments tell me all I need to know about your attitude and your organization.
Quite frankly, you disgust me. I've said you should be ashamed, but your comments indicate that you either just don't get it or you just don't care. Perhaps both.
As a fellow American citizen and veteran, I am ashamed of you.
Your organization will never receive a donation from myself or my family (including, I hope, my military family) until you recognize all grieving mothers of my brothers and sisters.
Sincerely,
Sxxxx x. Bxxxxxxxxx
USMC 1989-1993
My original subject line read, "Recognize my fallen brothers mothers you mother f*ckers." I edited it just so they'd read it. I hope they do, even if the don't give a f*ck.
Bitches.
