With the FN Minimi and UGL now in service what would a section organistation be like now?
as I remember it was
Section Commander
Rifleman
Rifleman
LSW Gunner
-
Section 2ic
Rifleman
Rifleman
LSW Gunner

section comander
minimi gunner
genadier ugl
lsw marksman
section 2 ic
minimi gunner
genanadier ugl
lsw marksman
thats the idea anyway with the Lsw used to give suppresive fire out to 800metres plus. That is aimed semi automatic fire, with the Bipod and longer barrel they can employ the same tactic that the US use m14s for

i think it is. there is a Manouver Support Section in each platoon.
Section Commander
GPMG Gunner
Rifleman
GPMG Gunner
Rifleman
51mm Motor Operator
I think the 51mm operator maybe eliminated now because of the UGLs. Not sure though.

It varies between Commando, Airborne, Light Role, Armoured and Mechanised units.
The manouvre support concept remains (in 3 Cdo Bde we have 2 MS Companies in a Commando). In some it is at Pl level, in some at Coy level and in some at Bn level.
The support weapons and their location vary. The L96's tend to be concentrated in Sniper Pl's/Tp's at Bn level. The L115's at Pl level. 40mm's and .50 Brownings tend to be at Coy level etc etc.
There are no hard and fast rules.
