Sorry for delay - i had some troubles with provider. And also it took some time to make them smaller.

My good old friend just returned from Afganistan. She was in it during last two weeks. And now I can share with you some of photos she made during this trip.

It was usual bussiness trip with some EBRR guys. These photos do not consits of pics of soldiers, helos, guns and military vehicles. They show only how modern Afganistan now looks like. And i suppose this can help you in understanding current situation here.

Before we begin i should say something that isn't visible on those pics. A lot of money were spent for bodyguards for this delegation because Afganistan is still very dangerous place to travel even you have high level protection from powerful local warlords.

So here we go.

On border between Tadzhikistan and Afganistan. They were forced to spend night here waiting for morning because it was rather dangerous to go into Afganistan at night.

Supper in the house of general Dustum deputy. Afganistan is muslim country so it is required for a woman at least to tie a kerchief round her head all the time. Even in case it is Russian woman :)

That's how people here moving around the country often. No buses, no trains. So up to 7 people sits inside car and up to 4 - in trunk. With their sheeps and chikens in hands :)

Streets always FULL of children running in all directions. 9-12 per family of 4 wives - it is standard here

Room in hotel. There isn't any central heating in Afganistan cities. So every room in hotel heated by such oven feed by gasoline.

In modern Afganistan everyone who have money also have bodyguards

Ok. Finally i posted photos. Enjoy.

Now i should answer for some of your comments.

It was two week travel through some Afganistan provinces. Mostly by car and in some cases by plane. It was chain of meetings with local authorities dedicated to make some business in supplying Afganistan with equipment for power plants, factories and so on.

Question 1 - What provinces did you travel through?

Quesdtion 2 - Did you see the American military patroling around?

Question 3 - How were you able to gain access into Afghanistan? Are you a photographer?

Excellent photos Kingpin. It is interesting to see photos of Afghanistan with its people and culture. My hats off to you. :D

q1
Provinces... err... Badakhshan, Kandoz, Samangan, Bamuan, Wardak, Kabul and back home.

q2
I'll ask.

q3
What's problem with access into Afganistan? Buy ticket on a plane and arrange visa in embassy. Protection inside Afganistan is more important issue. And read once again - it was not me who made these pics. It was sweetheart girl who appeared here on 2 photos.

Yes she did. But definitely it wasn't SF because soldiers she have seen are "shaved suckers. Afgani men have much more mojo".
