Not bad for an M16/Ar15 series rifle, notice the heat distortion at the 15 minute mark on the video.

Was that for real? 1. It doesnt look like 30 casings coming out of there, and 2. Did he really empty a full Beta in less than 2 seconds? Maybe Im wrong, but it didnt seem like he was really firing that much.
Also, what is that, some knock off airsoft vest?

The sound doesn't sound very good, mainly because the reverb and echo's. But if you watch all the brass flying around while he does it - it does look like he emptied it.

What I wanted to know was how many times the cameraman got nailed with hot brass. They could have also used something technical, like a notpad, to keep track of magazines.
Good video anyways and I'm sure the gun is now for sale in a used rack somewhere.
My AR hasn't failed me once. It isn't the most reliable system, but it is a very good all-around rifle. Now if only they could make a consistantly good magazine like HK did.

Or the ability to count. After the 3rd magazine is spent ... "that's 60 rounds".

Most salesmen are tools
 I know the guy is lame, but I was still impressed by the AR's durability. Also, that was the only torture video I could find. Please post any other related videos.

You wouldn't be saying that if you had to tote one around the jungles of SEA.

actually, with the rate of failures the 16's had in Nam i would be glad to carry the extra weight of a rifle i know for damn sure will fire when i needs it to

I never had a problem with either the 16 or the CAR-15.

By 1967, the problems were almost non-existant.
The M16 put out alot of firepower, it was lightweight, and you could carry more ammunition while patroling.
The M14 was rather heavy, had an uncontrollable auto-fire (that's what I've heard), and used heavy 7.62x51mm bullets.
In terms of knockdown power, the M14 with a heavier round wins; however, I hear the M16 was no slouch in severly wounding or killing an enemy soldier.
Macs.

Im not even going to go into the REAMS of personal reports, AAR, and high level interviews that gutted the reliability of early M16's the A1 version apparently DID greatly improve the reliability of the weapon but from what i heard the 16's that were there BEFORE the A1's entered the picture didnt exactly disappear and new ones replace them. apparently it wasnt uncommon for the orig. 16's to still be soldiering around well into the early 70's

Much of the M16's original lack of reliability was due to improper training. Soldiers had misconceptions about maintenance, etc.
Although, I'm sure an AK would out torture test any AR. I own both. Tolerances on the ARs are very close compared the their AK counterparts. I think this is common knowledge.
