Pacific Ocean (May 31, 2005) – Crew members watch as an RTM-7P NATO Sea Sparrow training missile is fired against a BQM-74E aerial drone from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). This is the first live test of the NATO Sea Sparrow weapons system aboard the ship. Reagan is currently underway in the Pacific Ocean conducting Combat System Ship’s Qualifications Trials (CSSQT).

Davis (FFG 60) search for a stowaway aboard the Military Sealift Command container and roll-on/roll-off ship MV PFC James Anderson Jr., during an at-sea boarding event as part of exercise Southeast Asia Cooperation Against Terrorism (SEACAT). SEACAT is a week-long anti-terrorism exercise in the Philippine and South China seas area being conducted with regional navies and involves the tracking and boarding of simulated rogue merchant ships. SEACAT is designed to contribute to regional coordination efforts that support cooperative responses to terrorism and transnational crimes at sea.

A Task Force Liberty Soldier from 3rd Infantry Division stands guard in an M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle near an Iraqi police checkpoint in Tikrit, Iraq. The Bradley main armament is the M242 25mm (Bushmaster) Chain Gun. The standard rate of fire is 200 rounds per minute, and has a range of 2,000 meters making it capable of defeating the majority of armored including some main battle tanks. The M240C machine gun, mounted to right fires 7.62mm rounds.

During Operation New Market in Haditha, Iraq, Team 4, Detachment 4, 5th Civil Affairs Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD), led by Maj. Matthew D. Chisholm, visited Haditha Hospital. The team made assessments of damage done when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device was driven into an outer wall, causing damage to one wing of the hospital. According to Cmdr. David C. Lu, medical officer and civil affairs liaison, the team will work closely with Dr. Rafe, Director General of Health, Al Anbar province, and the Ministry of Health so the hospital can meet it's Level 3 status.
