After BUD/S, the graduates go onto their teams for what used to be called SQT (SEAL Qualification Training), but they changed it to STT (SEAL Tactical Training). During STT which lasts 6 months, they do more diving, more shooting, and more demolitions training. After successfully completing STT, a Trident and a right to call himself a SEAL is awarded to the graduate (not all get to graduate). After STT, a SEAL must complete another 6 months of training to be fully operational deployable. So if you add it all up, it takes minimum of 18 months of training before a SEAL can participate in a mission.

I also believe that whilst also during this phase, the candidate can still be rejected from the program,so getting through BUD/S is only the beggining of Selection!

Yep, some BUD/S graduates find STT training too difficult and can't keep up with the others, so they get thrown out.

No I'm not, I'm a senior in high school. I'm enlisting right after I graduate, and hopefully go to BUD/S right after Navy's "A" school.

Thanks. By the way, I made a mistake in one of my statements that I would like to correct. After BUD/S, the training that the graduates undergo is called SQT, not STT (anymore), I just found that out.
