The IAF is probably one of the best air forces in the world, the only ones that can compare are those of the US, Britain and Saudi Arabia.

By Saudi Arabia i presume you mean the terrorists that flew the plane into the WTC killing thousands of innocent civillians?
Saudi Arabia is nothing but a bunch of ****ing terrorists and deserves no recognition next to the countries of Israel the U.S. and the greatest of Great Britains.

No, i mean the Royal Saudi Air Force, which, with politics aside, is one of the most skilled air forces in the world. The RSAF is equipped with modern aircraft, including Tornados, F-15C's and E-3 AWACS aircraft.
And anyone who has read news lately will know that despite the fact that some of the 9-11 terrorists were Saudi, Saudi arabia is now taking a more serious and concerted effort against terrorism, they just arent as open about it, in fear of angering their arab allies.
Its intelligence captured by Saudi intelligence services that led to the Cancelation of British airways flights recently and uncovered a plot in the operational phase to ram a flying bomb into another plane. Intel gathered by the saudis also led to the elevated terror alert in the US, or at least supplemented other intelligence already collected by American and allied assets.

No, there was a british airways 767 flight originating in Africa, destined for Riyadh, and Al Queda had plans in the operational phase to ram a small aircraft loaded with explosive ordanance into the plan as it sat on the runway. The plot was foiled like hours before it was to be executed, thnkfully saving the lives of hundreds.

Actually, IAF fighter pilots in the past war had an impressive kill ratio. Something like 93:1. They also regularily best US fighter squadrons and just recently (in the past few months) gave the Luftwaffe a lesson. ;) Pretty damn good for an air force that does not allow BVR- requiring visual ID before firing.
IAF fighter pilots are hands down the best in the world.
I heard that the F-15S had much more good radar then the F-15E and the F-15I...someone can correct me ?

If you mean the F-15K, the Strike Eagle that Boeing is making for South Korea, then yes the radar is better. Exactly how much better we can't know, since details about these kind of systems are almost always classified.
From the Boeing website, so take all the hyperbole with a grain of salt:
The F-15K is the newest variant of the highly successful and combat-proven U.S. Air Force F-15E. The aircraft has major leading edge technology upgrades to its systems that make it even more lethal, survivable and maintainable than the F-15E. The technology upgrades have kept pace with the newest developments in the global aerospace industry, making the F-15K equal or superior in operational capability to any other fighter in the world.
With a maximum gross takeoff weight of 81,000 pounds, the F-15K has unmatched fuel and munitions load capability. That makes the F-15K a world-leading strategic deterrent. The aircraft has an unrefueled combat radius in excess of 1,000 nautical miles (1,800 kilometers) in a deep-strike mission carrying both air-to-ground precision munitions and the most modern air-to-air missiles. With that configuration it is capable of deep strikes without escort, day or night, in any weather.
On a combat air patrol mission with an air-to-air weapons load the F-15K is capable of reaching an area 350 miles away, remaining on patrol three hours, and returning to base, without refueling. It is clearly superior in terms of range and payload to any aircraft.
The F-15K includes the Raytheon AN/APG-63(v)1 radar, the newest operational radar in the world. That radar provides a ten-fold improvement in reliability and maintainability. It incorporates all the proven air-to-air and air-to-ground modes of the older APG-70, with added capabilities for ground-moving target track, sea-surface search/track and enhanced high-resolution ground mapping that enable the two-person F-15K crews to identify targets clearly and at great distances. Upgrades to the APG-63(v)1could include an active electronically scanned array, or AESA. That would reduce pilot workload and enhance radar performance. An AESA is faster, smaller, lighter and more reliable than a traditional mechanically scanned radar antenna. It also can rapidly change frequency and redirect its beam, increasing detection capabilities as well as its ability to evade detection and countermeasures.
In addition to the radar, the F-15K sensor suite will incorporate third-generation targeting and navigation Forward Looking Infrared, or FLIR, systems for maximum aircrew flexibility in targeting and attack. An Infrared Search and Track, or IRST, system will also be incorporated for passive air-to-air target detection to supplement radar operations. A terrain-following system that gives the aircraft the unmatched ability to fly safely at 600 knots and 100 feet altitude at night and in bad weather, to strike targets with pinpoint precision, is also included. All these systems are updated to provide the latest technology.
The twin-engine F-15K also features an enhanced electronic warfare suite with new technology that includes the latest in on-board protection systems to build on the F-15E's legacy of safety and survivability. The Lockheed Martin ALR-56C(v)1 early warning receiver includes technology enhancements in both hardware and software that make it more effective than all current versions of the ALR-56 family, including the ALR-56M. Self-protection will be provided by the Northrop Grumman ALQ-135M jammer, an upgraded version of the U.S. Air Force ALQ-135, which also provides increased operational performance and improvements in reliability and ease of maintenance.
The F-15K also incorporates the newest cockpit-display technologies. The two-seat cockpit includes seven color liquid crystal displays, two flat panel upfront control panels, the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System and a wide field-of-view Heads-Up Display that combine to provide the F-15K crew with exceptional situational awareness.
The heart of the new avionics suite will be the Honeywell Advanced Display Core Processor, or ADCP, which replaces the aircraft's older central computer and display processor. The ADCP was developed using commercial data processing technologies and costs significantly less to develop, produce, maintain and upgrade than earlier systems. This processor provides ten times the processing capability of the older F-15 central computer.
The F-15K can carry a large variety of weapons, allowing versatility in choice of weapon employment, and it is the only fighter capable of carrying weapons such as the AGM-130. It is interoperable with other Republic of Korea Air Force systems as well as U.S. assets in Korea.
The F-15K is based on the U.S. Air Force's F-15E; the aircraft of choice for low and medium altitude, precision strike missions during the day, at night or in bad weather. The F-15E can carry payloads of up to 23,000 pounds and is the only fighter in U.S. production capable of performing the long-range, precision strike mission. It also retains the full air-to-air capability of the F-15C. In fact, the F-15 family of aircraft has an air-combat record of 101 victories and zero losses, the best of any fighter in the world.

Sorry, my mistake. Anyway, the APG-70 on the F-15S has been "detuned"; the digital patch map capability has been taken away and other changes have been made (in part I think because of Israeli pressure?). Both the F-15I and the F-15E have better radars, and avionics in general, than the Saudi Eagle.

Israeli Air-to-Air Victories since 1974 (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_270.shtml)
; hmm……….(as you would say ;) )
First I always thought that it was 81 to1 so your site says that it was three, ok big difference. ;) :D
I also like the way you put that link for Syria from 1948 but with Israel you put it from 1974…I wonder why? ;) What happened to all the Israeli air to air victories before then? I mean in the 1967 war alone, Israeli planes shot down around a 75 Arab warplanes in air to air battles (I got that from your site) which is more alone then what Syria or Egypt has done independently in all of the past fifty years against the IAF in all of the air to air battles.
I also find it a bit interesting (in a positive way for the IAF :D ) to say the least that with Syria and Egypt for air to air battles, your site only has one link respectively and they count it from 1948 till now (and both lists are relatively very small) but yet with Israel and its air to air victories they have five different links with long lists to five different time periods (here count them 1, (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_255.shtml)
2, (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_261.shtml) 3, (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_264.shtml)
4, (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_268.shtml)
5 (http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_270.shtml) ….interesting indeed :D
I also liked the way your site puts the country of origin like for example when they do in fact recognise what I said before that in july 30 of 1970, Israeli pilots shot down five soviet piloted migs (without a loss to its own.)
The site that S13 brought down has a total in all the air to air battles between the Arabs and the Israeli’s, the Arabs had 639 planes shot down by an Israeli plane while Israel had only 39 shot down by an Arab plane!! (The site that S13 brought down differs in the total from the site that you brought down, but its not a huge difference in the ratio’s and percentages to make any real difference if one is correct over the other.)
Anyways to whistler, good post and yes I agree with your thread headline.(hey the IAF has clearly proven that!! :D )
To usa320…I know that Saudi Arabia has very modern planes but how can you rank their pilot skills to be the third or forth in the world along with Israel, the U.S. or Briton.??
I can think of a lot of countries that have more skilled pilots then the Saudi’s
Is that not correct? I mean are you saying that they are more skilled then the Germans, the French, the Canadians, the south Koreans etc..……
Listen you could be right, I just have to question where you came up with that.
I just want to end off with one of my favorite IAF pics (there are a lot more great pics on that site ) and even though it’s a bit older and its not the newer F15I, I still love this pic.

Israeli Air losses from 1982 to 2000 (Israeli presence in Lebanon ):
5 Aircrafts (Skyhock , 2 Fantoms , F16 , and another one , i am not shure ) .
2 attack Helicopters (Cobra ).
2 transport Helicopters (CH53).
Those figures were posted in Israel Airforce journal . All of them were shoot down by ground AA fire or accidents (2 transport helicopters ) , non of them were shot down in Air combat .
Some Non-manned aircrafts were also shot down , that time by Surian Aircrafts , mostly in 1982 .

that can compare are those of the US, Britain and Saudi Arabia.
So compared to Saudia Arabia, the French, Germans, Russians, Chinese, Japanese, South Koreans, Australians, and Canadians are inferior
Umm so everyone else can navigate and use the site just fine? It loads the basic backgrounds for me but thats it. Tried both the hebrew and english site all busted.
