'Ands off... Ya' bastards! ;) Seriously though, it seems they'll never be the Malvinas, seeing as the entire population, in various votes (etc), want to stay British. Same with Gibraltar. :)

For Flaklands is true, and they are true English people, but for Gribraltar they speak spanish with South Spanish accent and english with south Spanish accent, they have spanish traditions, they want to stay British beacause in Gibraltar they have less strong laws than rest of Europe and Spain, Gibraltar is full of drugs trafficants, a trafficants of others thing:
Gibraltar people are descendents of British soldiers and Spanish prostitutes who were working in naval base since 18th century.

Those troops embarking the helicopter are Argentinian not British.

MARINO

You are right but is a british helicopter, because Argentinins have H-3 only in their Navy, in Argentinien ARMADA, and they have blue or White scheme and not green, and they have them with floats, and in this picture the helicopter have any float. So this Argentiniens should be POW's.

GO ARGENTINA!!! LOL LOL and LOL. That was a good one. Never in modern history has a country got their ass super whooped like the Argentinians. Shait, I'm sure the Brits could have send in girl scouts with rolled up news papers and won the day.

And on the matter of Gibraltar. You Spanish dudes just have to live with the fact that Gibraltar is British.

The Iraqis got beat worse by the U.S and Coaltion in the 1st Gulf war then then Argentina got beat by the Brits

I cant remember the exact Casualty figures but it was something like 250 Brit KIA and 650 Argentina KIA

Argentine Air Force even managed to put up a fight agaisnt the U.K Navy and Air Force.

Even disabled a couple ships.

None the less Argentina still got ****ing killed.

Commanders of the British Task Force have described their situation as "critical" before the landings and battles of Goose Green and Port Stanley. The Brits had American intelligence support and were able to stock up on the newest Sidewinder air-to-air missiles from NATO wartime inventories. It was a close call on all accounts.

From what I've read and what my Father has said, it seems the Argentineans, on the equipment side were equal to the British. The difference was mainly the troops. The Argentineans for the most part were low-payed conscripts with low-morale, while the British Marines and Soldiers were there with The Sun's attitude of 'GOTCHA!' et cetera.

for example of all brithish Chinokk sent to Islands, only 1 came back to GB, and for ships we have HMS Sheffield,HMS Atlantic conveyor, HMS Antelope, ec...
Where the Chinooks actually destroyed, or just left on the islands?

A conflict that need never have happened - of all the peoples of the South Americas, Argentina and Chile were the two we were closest to, oddly enough. Had the Argentines but waited a year, we'd would have found it very difficult indeed to remove them as we would have got rid of one of our carriers. Despite us having kicked the Aussies and the Kiwis in the b*lls over the EU, they rallied round and offered us support. We didnt deserve mates like them, and we owe them. The kiwis had one operational frigate, and they offered it to us. Good blokes. Anyway, a year later the Argentinians would have had the place for keeps. It didnt work out - fortunately for the islanders, and I'd like to think the Argentine defeat led in some way to them becoming a democratic state. Thier people certainly deserved better than a junta.

Some of them were sunk with atlantic conveyor the others were destroyed, but Brithish forces capture a lot of Argentinien helicopters, you can see them at Fleet Air Arm museum in yeotvilton(i think):D

There were five Chinook HC 1's on board the "Atlantic Conveyor". One was left on Ascension, and three of the remaining four were lost when "Atlantic Conveyor" was sunk. The one survivor, "Bravo November", worked throughout the war, and not until the surrender did three more plus the one left on Ascension arrive on "Contender Bezant".

http://malvinas.cazadoresdemonte.com.ar/historia.htm

This site has some real problems with its history, it comes also in an english version:

http://malvinas.cazadoresdemonte.com.ar/resenia1-ing.htm
http://malvinas.cazadoresdemonte.com.ar/resenia2-ing.htm
http://malvinas.cazadoresdemonte.com.ar/resenia3-ing.htm

There seem to be some real discrepancies between this version of events and other timelines that seem to have been better researched, especially when it comes to losses of British aircraft (especially Harriers) and the fact it claims that the Invincible and Hermes were hit:

http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/index.html
http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/brit-aircraftlosses.htm
http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falklands/argentine-aircraftlosses.html
http://www.raf.mod.uk/falklands/line1982.html

If i remember correctly, there is still an Argentine Airforce squadron that believe they sunk the Hermes during the conflict (and that the sinking was covered up). There seems to be an awful lot of fiction in Argentine accounts of the war, for example, the only Chinooks that were destroyed in the conflict were in the Atlantic Conveyor while you seem to claim others were destoryed outside of this incident. And yes, a lot of aircraft were taken by the British forces, probably the most famous would be the two(?) A109's that were taken and were comandeered by the SAS.

A few of those pics are post-war. The kevlar helmets are the give-away.
There were a few kevlars around during the war but not with those helmet covers.

Just because they may have come from the MoD picture library and are of troops in the Falklands does not mean they were taken at the time of the war. As guys like Martin & Argyll will testify, we were in the Falklands long before 1982 (NP8902) and have been there ever since.

The Mk VI Kevlar helmet (as worn in the photos above) did not come into service with the Royal Marines until 1986 (the year I joined) some Army units did not get it until much later.

, for example of all brithish Chinokk sent to Islands, only 1 came back to GB..

they were all on a freight ship, if they had got to be used they would have all come back and the war would have been over a lot quicker, because the soldiers on the island wouldn't have needed to yomp everywhere.

In fact, TWO Chinooks came back to the UK. One Argentine CH-47C was captured by the British forces on 14 June 1982... ;)

How can you even try to pass this off as argentine forces pictures? the soldiers on the artillery piece are british gurkhas, the helicopter is clearly a british one, and all the other photos are post war !! This is just a pathetic attempt to show solidarity with the argentine nation which actually despises that era of their history and its their generals who killed all those reclutas.

Please send in some more spanish forces pictures so me and my mates can laugh at them, probably the worst, most disorganised rabble, badly equipped and poor excuse for an army I have ever had the misfortune to deal with in Europe.

p.s, the spanish whores in gibraltar are the dirtiest you can find, wouldnt touch that ass with a ****ty stick, I much prefer the brazilian ones.

Manos arribas mi amigo.

Really now, this is a non-argument. Here's a tip:

1) go home
2) get out your history book
3) look up 1982.
4) Turn to the page marked June 14.

You see.... we sorted this discussion out a while ago.

Easy really :)
