Panzerlied!
I use to know all of it, it's a good song but in the movie they sing the same part over and over again, if you can; go on google and search it up, find the english version so you know what they're singing ;)

Here you go - words, music the whole shooting match.............and several different music formats incl. Mp3

Panzerleid

1. Ob's stürmt oder schneit,
Ob die Sonne uns lacht,
Der Tag glühend heiß
Oder eiskalt die Nacht.
Bestaubt sind die Gesichter,
Doch froh ist unser Sinn,
Ist unser Sinn;
Es braust unser Panzer
Im Sturmwind dahin.

2. Mit donnernden Motoren,
Geschwind wie der Blitz,
Dem Feinde entgegen,
Im Panzer geschützt.
Voraus den Kameraden,
Im Kampf steh'n wir allein,
Steh'n wir allein,
So stoßen wir tief
In die feindlichen Reihn.

3. Wenn vor uns ein feindliches
Heer dann erscheint,
Wird Vollgas gegeben
Und ran an den Feind!
Was gilt denn unser Leben
Für unsres Reiches Heer?
Ja Reiches Heer?
Für Deutschland zu sterben
Ist uns höchste Ehr.

4. Mit Sperren und Minen
Hält der Gegner uns auf,
Wir lachen darüber
Und fahren nicht drauf.
Und droh'n vor uns Geschütze,
Versteckt im gelben Sand,
Im gelben Sand,
Wir suchen uns Wege,
Die keiner sonst fand.

5. Und läßt uns im Stich
Einst das treulose Glück,
Und kehren wir nicht mehr
Zur Heimat zurück,
Trifft uns die Todeskugel,
Ruft uns das Schicksal ab,
Ja Schicksal ab,
Dann wird uns der Panzer
Ein ehernes Grab.

Is not the war movie I liked most, but it was filmed in the Sierra of Guadarrama, close to Madrid, in the winter. A lot of stunts and "soldiers" in the movie were spanish recruits.
Other movie I liked very much was the Battle of England, in the 60´s, this was filmed in many aerial scenes in Spain because in that time Spain still kept some Ju-52, M-109 "Buchones"(called Pidgeons, cus they had a bigger engine looking more thick) and H-111, all them in good condition. As an anecdote, posibly the last war in what IIWW time german aircrafts were used was in the short war of Sidi-Ifni, south of Marroq, where Spain used J-52 for parachutists operations and H-111 for ground strikes.

Personally, I´ll recommend that movie even it isn´t the most I like, it has some good scenes and actors are very popular, T.Savallas is an american tank commander and is funny.
I´m not an expert in tanks, but I´m afraid all tanks you see in the movie are post-IIWW. But in the contrary, it has some unusual material in other war movies, you can see a german soldier with a stg-44, that was very real in that battle.

The fact that you want to know the words is scary enough.

It is absolute crap. Loved it as a kid, but then I thought Lassie and the Rescue Rangers was cool too so...

Watch this instead....

Instead. More accurate as far as gear goes but just as silly and way more violent. Plus it has James Coburn in it. Then again it makes the Germans look sort of cool, which no movie should do.

So, why don't you watch this...

The best homoerotic war comedy movie starring Carry Grant, a bunch of nurses, and a pink submarine.

Cross of Iron is undoubtedly a classic war movie to watch.

Cross of Iron is undoubtedly a classic war movie to watch.

Classic ONLY because of its violence not because of its WAR-y-ish-ness (insert descriptive adjective here). It certainly was not Peckinpah's finest by ANY stretch...

http://www.strategyplanet.com/commandos/images/kelly.jpgThat´s a funny movie!, D.Sutherland looks like a kind of psychedelic/hippy tank commander 20 years before the 60s, C.Eastwood looks like C.Eastwood, T.Savallas like Kojak and the german tank commander like a hard but good german tank commander. And the soundtrack is good too. I´m gonna make a search in kaazalite just now, I want that song!
The Cross of Iron is good, but different, it´s the war without jokes. Only bad thing about that movie is Senta Berger has a short appearance in scene. It´s a pity that woman played so few movies in Hoollywood, beautiful woman.

Burning Bridges

Anyway Kellys Heroes was a great film, you can't beat it. Anyone else think Three Kings was very similar but just had some added sentimental crap at the end?
