You can't pull a decent "Doom" movie with a ridiculous low budget, an uninspired plot and a overall look that just doesn't look a single bit like the game. Such a movie doesn't deserve the title "Doom". From what I've seen and heard, it's just gonna be another medicore Zombie movie like RE.

Already this is pegging my suck-o-meter. So they make a movie that will appeal primarily to fans of the game, then they change the story for no apparent reason, just to piss off all the fans. There's a good idea.

Why not just stick with success? Why call it DOOM if it's not about what the game was about? Why not just make a smaller, less expensive movie for the fans & make a profit, instead of trying to *** it up, and swing for the fences? Bah, this has straight-to-video written all over it.

The true Doom movie will star a hybrid of The Rock/Kurt Russel/Vin Diesel/Arnie. It will be about him running around killing demons with a double barrell shotgun. It will be the most successful film ever.

common we all know any Doom movie made by hollywood will suck. Still The Rock looks very fitting for the part of a space marine.

I think they're barking up the wrong tree.

The original DOOM was a hit because it was fun...not because it was super hard-core or gory etc. Every time the Space Marine got killed he went "whaaaaaaaaAAAA!" - he grunted like an idiot when walking in acid (which was strangely abundant on Mars, along with explosive barrels) - it was goofy and cool. They should make this a comedy, not an Alien type gore-fest.

Think of how great that could be - the main hero gets waxed about every 10 minutes and always yells "whaaaaAAAA!" - then is somehow restored to life. He has to search for these huge oversized colored keys. In order to move to the next building, he has to pull a switch and it tells him his elapsed time & kill count. He keeps shooting exploding barrels by accident or leaning on them etc.

My pick for the lead would have to be Bruce Campbell...

Sounds like it is set on Mars, unless you want them too shoot on Mars too.

Funny story time (tragic for me). When I had my hernia surgery and was recovering in my bed, I had my mom rent me Starship Troopers 2. She put it in my DvD player and went shopping. So I had to watch the whole thing. I didn't have a remote to stop it and was in to much pain to get up. I wanted to die.

The first-person scenes actually look f*cking badass. I'm also very glad that they're using mostly actors in costumes and animatronics for the demons rather than CGI.

the FPS look is interesting, as long as they don't do it too much (its like watching your friend play, you don't wanna do it for too long). Although I am happy to see that they brought back the chainsaw. :D

It's meant for entertainment, not a realistic depiction of a future military force. Personally, I think it should be entertaining, and that's what counts.
