Cool site, especially if you are british. Type in your name and get the details of people who served at the famous naval engagement. One of the guys with the same name was born in the states, Virginia?!?!

Wow, check out mine; http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/trafalgarancestors/details.asp?id=17849
I'd also like to know what happened to them etc, KIA or promoted etc. That would be cool, they must have lists of the registered deaths etc.

I have nothing on this, but I would love to know of the history of my last name. But all my search's in the end seem to end at a sponser for a site that charges ten pound to continue. Is there any sites that are 'free' or any downloads that i could use to get some history on my name?
Also is there a WW2 British database (like this one above?) where I can search for my grandad's?

I know the War Museum in Manchester has a computer system where you can input names and it tells you about any service etc, so i suspect other places must have it too...

Well my grandad was supposingly in the D-Day landings, don’t know if it's me mum chatting crap, but i would like to find out myself. I know there’s address's on the MOD site you can send off to and they send you the service record back, might do it sometime.

There are lots of names from both my dad's and my mom's family, but by then, both sides had immigrated to North America. Still, there is a good chance that at least one was the descendant of one of my ancestors' cousins, as a few of them were from the same places in England and Wales.
