Because, it's a given. Girls are meant to grow, have families, have pretty things and smile all the time. Death, pain, misery are all things that most of us would throw our bodies onto the pyres if we can help them avoid those things.

That was a sweet comment S of E. There are women who would take offense to your sentiments. I am not one of them. Personally, I like it that men feel that way about women.
PT.... I didn't post it because she was a woman. I had just posted the article about women's roles in combat, and that was the next article I read. It just seemed fitting somehow to go ahead and post that too. I don't think the loss is any greater, because she was a woman. I feel for her friends and family just as I feel for the friends and family of every man killed in the line of duty.
I am indebted to her and to every man and woman who serves in the military.
It was a valid question, and I don't think you are a "****head" for asking.

when you join the military and go to war everybody must except the fact they can be killed at any time and go on operating. Nobody in a war lives for that ****.

I disagree.... ask the men who have been there. The freedom to do those things are a few of the reasons that the brave men and women of our country (and many others) are willing to accept the risk of death.
That "****" is worth living and dying for....
just some thoughts and have a good one..... (hey it works for Tane) ;)
