A Little Bit of Irony.....

So anyway, I had to work New Year's Eve. I didn't mind, it paid double time. Anyhow, here's the ironic part. We monitor the police radio traffic in the town and heard them respond to a fight with 8 people involved. Not long after we heard them request a medic unit. My partner and I jumped in the unit and headed that way. When we got on scene, the PD had 5 of the people arrested and we had 3 patients. One of our other medics were on their way at this point. I walk up to our patient, a female. She has her face in her hands crying. When she looked up, I recognized her. It was a girl that I dated in high school, who just so happened to dump me. My night was looking up. She recognized me and got a strange look on her face. My partner joked about me starting 2 large bore IV's (14ga) on her to get even. In case you're wondering, that would hurt like a mother. So, here's where you come in.... What would you have done? Would you have gotten even with her or not?

No i wouldnt. Because you have that job for a reason and you need to take it seriously because your there to help people no matter how much someone has hurt you in the past. Unless of course they have killed someone or something. But thats far off.
Im thinking of maybe going into EMT.

Evan, I agree. For the record, I was as professional with her as I would be with anyone. I cleaned the blood off of her face and took good care of her. We have our patient care reports signed by the nurse assigned to the patient and she was still in the room with my ex when I went in. My ex thanked me and gave me a hug. A little awkward, though.
