So who is it gonna be? One or the other, no option to write in someone else this time. Guys, who do you want to be? Gals, who do you want to bag? Consider this a grudge match between Yanks and Europeans, between hicks with PhDs and metro******s who box, between bullwhips and Walthers. Whatever. Just choose one.

Bond is the ultimate cool guy. Indiana is just a Bond rip off designed to look a bit more rugged.

Bond is the ultimate cool guy. Indiana is just a Bond rip off designed to look a bit more rugged.

You're right. Indiana is so much like James Bond. How could I have missed the similarities?

Indiana is an archeologist. Bond is a spy.

Bond is named by his official MI6 number. Indiana is named after the dog.

Indiana solves everything with a bullwhip, a revolver, knowledge of Christian mythology, and a superhuman resilience to road rash. Bond solves everything with super-high-tech MI6 gadgets.

Bond sometimes runs across Communist plots. Indiana sometimes runs across the Wrath of God.

Indiana fights Nazis. Bond fights psychopathic millionaires.

Indiana's ideosyncracy is his fear of snakes. Bond's ideosyncracy is his taste for shaken martinis.

When Bond gets injured, it's meant as drama. When Indi is shot in the arm and then punched repeatedly in the bullet wound then thrown through a windshield, it's effing hilarious.

Bond always gets the girl--every girl in every movie. Indi either falls asleep before he gets nookie, or he gets his dad's sloppy seconds.

How could I not see that Indi is meant to be just like Bond? :cantbeli:

No, seriously. What do the two have in common, besides the fact that each has multiple adventure movies made about him? I don't see them as near-copies; I see them as polar opposites.

OK i was actually joking but you have to admit there are similarities.

Both Indiana and Bond go upagainst big bad evil guys who are trying to take over the world or do something equally nasty. They get into tight spots and escape using less than believable means. Then they corner the bad guy and finally kill them/him/her. Whilst doing that they make sharp witty comments and try and shack up with anything with two legs and no ding dong.

"Yeah baby! Yeah!"

Stainless PPK beats Black PPK (and P99)/Revolver.
Austin's ladies beat Bond's/Jone's ladies.
Union Jack E-Types, Beetles and Minis beat Astons and BMWs/Horses and some other stuff.

I could go on forever...

 ;)

Indy rules....although, when someone asks him 'who's yo' daddy?' He has to say 'Sean Connery' ;)

Indy only takes on Arabs and Nazis, Bond takes on every f*cker and the ladies think he is hot stuff.

I'm fairly confident Bond has been shot in one of the movies. In Dr No then they mention that he was shot and has just rejoined the Intelligence Services.

Indy is my favorite. Except in the 2nd one with that annoying bitch that married Steven Spielberg. But Budanski as a 10 year old is funny.

"You call hm Dr. Jones ladyyyy"

I think you just described the entire adventure hero genre! Everyone from Batman to Luke Skywalker fits that.

Though technically, Indiana doesn't even fit that description. Unlike Bond, he never actually "corners the bad guy and kills them." In Raiders, Indi is captured and essentially defeated, and then The Almighty kills all the Nazis for daring to open the Ark of the Covenant. In Last Crusade, the head Nazi drives a tank off a cliff; the evil archeologist is killed by the female Nazi when she gives him the wrong Grail, and then the female Nazi falls into a chasm while Indi is trying to save her life. Indi kills tons and tons of stormtrooper goons, but never actually kills the main villains.

Yes of course, this is all a joke. But I can be nit-picky even when I'm not being serious, you know? ;)

I can't go one way or the other. They are both favourites of mine.

But Bond got it on more often than Indianna ;)
